Taranis X9D low SWR but low range?

Post by NJTech »

Hi guys,
Interesting problem here. I recently added a RPSMA extension to my X9D.
Anyway, all has been fine and working great. I recently did a lot of fly (as in travelling) with my gear in a suitcase. Since getting back ive had some low RSSI warnings at no more than 100 meters away in clean LOS. Now whats interesting is the SWR is still 0-1 and the connections are all good that i can see and checked with multimeter. So what is likely to have happened here? In range test mode i can confirm there is RSSI warnings at only 15 paces away and this is across several models so its not an RX issue. Any ideas??
If there is nothing i can do then i guess ill be buying a new backboard with internal RF but im clinging onto hope there might be a fix or something to check you could suggest?
Thanks in advance!

further to this, my cheapest option would probably be to get one of these. Sorry if this is a stupid question but does this introduce latency? Or will This just work as the internal one does?

It works like the internal one, no extra latency.

Ok thanks mike, ill go with one of those for now i think. I see banggood do the best deal on a backboard with XJF internal module. I presume i can install this and flash with EULBT?
