Turnigy 9xr pro, Frsky XJT & X8R receiver binding issues

Post by costall »

I have a Turnigy 9XR Pro running ersky9x-pr219, Version V.490-Mike. I have inserted a Frsky XJT Model (Which has a 2015 label on it). I have purchased two receivers that have the X8R_150115 firmware now installed (Someone suggested the firmware on the receiver was the issue). I am unable to bind in Mode 5 (D16). When I press the F/S button and add the power to the receiver I just get both a solid green and red LED.

I have managed to bind one of the two receivers in D8 with the jumper across channel 7&8, but this will not bind in D16 regardless of EU or Non EU firmware.

Any help gratefully received as I'm running out of ideas....

You did not mention your module settings on the radio. When using PXX you need to use the menu commands to bind, NOT the button.

Both dip switches are down (off) on the XJT Module.

In the Protocol Screen:

PPM2 not selected
Module selected
Proto PXX RXNum 1
Type D16
Chans 8
Country Ame
1st Chan 1
Bind (I've been using this rather than pressing the Module button)

Fixed it! I upgraded the XJT Module to XJT_141016.frk and both receivers have bound in D16. :D

I have been trying to get my telemetry to work. I downloaded the new ersky9x-pr219 V.841-Mike. I have been trying to update the xjt_141016 but when it choose to update the s port on the turnigy the bar doesnt move. I will let it sit for a while but nothing. Help Please.

1. When, and where, did you purchase the XJT?
2. Can you bind to a receiver OK?

If it binds OK, then telemetry should be OK.
Check your settings in the Telemetry menu:
Usr Proto = Frsky
FrSky Com port = 1
Invert COM1 is not ticked
and in the protocol menu you are using PXX as the protocol.

OK Mike (or anyone), got another one for you. With the telemetry working and I can see voltage of the flight battery, How do I get the lowest cell to show? I want to set up a low voltage alarm so I know when to bring her in. Thanks

Do you actually have a cell sensor?

I assumed it would tell me with the telemetry I have. I guess I will have to run alarm based off the full battery pack then.

It can't guess the cell voltages if nothing is connected to the balance port to measure them...

What telemetry sensors do you have?
How is the flight pack voltage being connected?

So it seems the FC is sending the flight pack voltage (I don't know anything about this FC). Do you have a connection from the Fc to the balance port of the flight battery? If not, then there is no way the FC can return individual cell voltages.

I think it uses the FrSky Battery Voltage Sensor (FBVS-01): http://flyduino.net/ultraesc/downloads/ ... .01-en.pdf

No, the FC measures the total battery voltage itself and reports it as VFAS on the smart port.
