ESC, Motor Taranis Setup

Post by Stucarius »

I am having an issue that seems odd. I set up a new glider with motor on my X9E. When I hooked up to a Watt Meter everything seemed on ok on the AMP draw reaching within a few A of max AMPS for the ESC. Then after finishing all the setup I lost half of the AMP draw on the motor. I went from 26-29A to no more than 16A at full throttle.

I did not do anything I am aware of on my TX that might ave altered my throttle rang. Generally ESC don't work halfway or if they do there is an obvious problem like heat or the like. None of which is happening here.

I went in and set the throttle failsafe as directed and it says it took although I am still getting a warning. This seemed to up the draw a few AMPS.

Any ideas?

Thanks so much.

1 - Calibrate the Taranis sticks.
2 - Calibrate your ESC to the radio. Normally ( not always) this is done by powering your ESC with the throttle at full (remove props), wait for some beeps, then bring the throttle back down.
But better refer to your ESC's manual for this.
