9X and Sims - Mac OS anyone?

Post by pgregg88 »

Two questions:

1. Anyone having luck using their 9x with a simulator? I've seen the reports of PPM out issues with the standard TX/RX. Better luck with FrSky? Suggestions?

2. Anyone have a 9X USB interface working with Mac OS?

My ultimate goal is to use my 9x on a commercial simulator (like AeroFly) on Mac OS.

Any feedback or suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks,
Preston

Yes It just works .... do the resistor mod and grab a usb dongle ...if you want more specifics just ask and I can post all I have tested. I only have free and demo sim's, no commercial ones, but guess it will be the same

I've decided to focus on getting the 9x working on Windows (Mac OS, later). I've had some success. However, for some reason I can't get AIL output on any channel. THR, RUD, ELE, FLAPS, GEAR are fine. No AIL. I've checked my mixes and nothing is weird on AIL. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Preston

Success! For some reason channel 1 isn't being transmitted (regardless of what mix is on it). Channels 2-6 seem to be working fine. Once I moved off channel 1 I'm golden.

Here is the cable I'm using, if anyone is interested.

As a bonus, it looks like it will work on my Mac, as well. I haven't tested this yet, though.

Please go to the model settings on your sim model and reduce the number of PPM channels sent by the er9x to a maximum of 6. four is better but 6 might work.. your channel 1 will come back like magic.. ;)
