Another option to add to the 9x er9x?
Free with planes I'm reading or $24.95 from Tower. Plug it into the trainer out, bind it wirh Hobbico planes and fly. I can see the future 9x with the original 35/72 mhz antenna, a flySky, frsky, spektrum, and now a Hobbico Any-Link antenna on the case. I'm sure it will draw a crowd at the field.

just takes the trainer ppm out and transmits it. I saw that too on Model Airplane news.

Re: Hobbico Any-Link 2.4 module
I see the 9x is not listed in their compatibility table!
To use the Any-Link module with a 9x, presumably you simply have to remove the existing module (or do the trainer mod by adding a resistor). It would use the JR/Spektrum cable into the trainer port.
Is there an issue of channel order? The native firmware in the 9x is stuck with AETR. Is this an issue with any of the Tactic models? Of course it's not an issue if either you can swap servo connections at the receiver or, of course, you go to ER9x.

Re: Hobbico Any-Link 2.4 module
This module looks to me like a simple system that will plug in to the trainer port.
All it does is to receive the PPM stream, then re-broadcast it via it's own transmitter. I imagine it may have it's own on-board battery pack!
Technically it can work on the 9x. The 9x trainer socket is the same as the JR sets that I have had in the past. Also the same as the Spektrum units. As such it will almost certainly work 'out the box'

It's here! And doesn't work with the turnigy, needs power. (i hope thats all)
It does work beautifully with a futaba t4yf sky sport, mmmmmm
Will need to play with it to see whats up, works on a dx6 but not a dx4e.. Polarity of the charge port is the same though... Fun fun

So all I did to get it to work was look up what the heck a tacm0005 was, it's a life battery 6.6v, 200ma... so it's a matter of making a little power mode for it, and shuld work flawlessly.
