R9/R9M VERY poor range

Post by Wingnutt »

I recently picked up the R9/R9M combo and I am at my wits end with this setup.

Ive tried the module in both my X9D and my Q X7, and the receiver Ive tried in 2 different planes as well as configurations (V and L)

Even at a setting of 1W on the transmitter, I lose telemetry within 50 meters, and I lose complete control at around 200 meters..

Even withing a few feet I often get a constant message of "telemetry lost... telemetry recovered.." over and over
I have no idea what to make of this.

The transmitter is powered by a 3s lipo, as is the receiver.

Ive re-bound the receiver countless times, turned off the VTX (5.8) added ferrite magnets, twisted wires..

I'm out of ideas, its completely unusable as is.

Any ideas?

Have you made sure to turn the radio's internal module off?

About the distance, likely either the module or the receiver is faulty.
Did you ever run either of them with no antenna connected?

Have never run either without antenna.

The internal RF is off, double checked that.

This equipment "ImmersionRC RF Power Meter" if you had,
could help you to see what your Transmitter output is: (http://www.immersionrc.com/downloads/ma ... Manual.pdf).

I found the problem, it was the antennas on the R9. both of them were broken where they affixed to the connector.

I'm having a hard time finding replacements as well.

I cant flash firmware to R9M
I tried flashing via SPORT on QX7 and STK (DIY Arduino nano)
Module only shorty LED blink if press "FS" button
STK flash receiver R9 well, it work.
When i connect R9M only message "finding device"

May be someone can share bootloader for R9M?
