9XR screen going blank

Post by stotty1111 »

Hi all
another strange occurrence, the screen on the unit on boot shows a good blue background etc, giving the splash screen, it then sometimes shows the operational screen then blanks or sometimes goes straight to blank scree at the end of the splash. If I plug the usb lead in the radio screens all show, with the possibility of changing the various functions etc but, directly I unplug the usb leads the screen blanks.
The display setting is 25 - any suggestions?
The radio belongs to a colleague who had been investigating the various setting within the radio setup page apparently when this happened.
I have tried reflashing the software, tried , same state as above using different svn's
There are times I now wish I hadn't volunteered to help others with their tx's! :-((

If when you connect the programmer the screens are there, it might be that the 5V from the radio's voltage regulator are not getting to the processor. Check the voltage at the 5V voltage regulator. One of the pins should have battery voltage, one should be Ground, and the other should have 5V. Be very careful not to short anything when measuring..

Without opening up the tx, it may have been the tx battery, just recharged it and as the French would say voilla it works, I think I need to check the battery output with that displayed, perhaps my friend has adjusted the value displayed.
Should have started there to start with, another little victory and addition to the note book!
I will take my sand yacht to the beach this afternoon and give the system a good trial!
I will bear in mind your suggestion as well
Thanks
tony - have a great day!

Yeah, without battery the radio doesn't work ;)
Keep the battery voltage above 7V. I set the alarm at 7.2V..

Is the voltage the radio displays correct? If not you can adjust it in the DiagAna menu..

Mike, perhaps this setting would be better placed in the "Hardware" menu? It should need to be adjusted once, right??
And it would free some screen space inthe DiagAna menu ;)
Thanks
