I'm not IEEE, but I know enough to know that not all pots and switches quality are the same.
If I want to replace, upgrade, or add a switch or pot to my radio, what brands should I look for? or how do I know if it's cheap c**p vs a quality item? Bigger suppliers are affordable but kill you on shipping for small qty, where ebay is great for small quantities and shipping, but there is so much trash to avoid.
Also, POT knobs. I would like to change mine, but all I can find are cheesy chinese ones. I want solid aluminum with knurling, weight, and affordably priced. And the world in handbasket.
Help me! I'm drowning in a sea of trash components!!!! LOL
Thanks!
And world peace.

Electric guitar knobs seem to be a good place to look (ebay, 4x for $10 w free ship)
But the pots on my 9x are not 6mm shafts. meh. I'll have to replace them

Turnigy 9x.
I just ordered an AR9x and M9 gimbles for it, I'm hoping to pimp my tx to my liking even more than that.

Re: What brand pots/switches to use or not to use (AR9X Upgrade)
I have not used the AR9X yet but have installed the 9Xtreme in Turnigy 9x's.
You are in the USA same as me and I like to purchase from Aloft Hobbies when looking for pots, switches and M9 Gimbals.

ty. I did just grab some m9's from them after I asked over at RCGroups had suggested doing so.
I'll check them out for pots and whatnot, too. Thanks again!
