Hi! Whilst editing a model in the Tx(Not connected via Companion 2.2) a buzzing occurred from the speaker, then LCD went blank(backlight On) & remained in this state with no response to any key inputs eg Menu, exit or page up/down.
The Tx will power off & On with the switch but still blank LCD(backlight On),now cannot enter bootloader mode anymore(Horiz trims in & power on) and connect to Companion 2.2 i get the no radio was found message.
In Device manager the usb lead shows in Ports as Bossa Program Port (COM14).
Previously i had no problems connecting with Tx and seeing the 2 drives.
Is the Ar9x dead? or can any thing be done to retrieve it!.
The Tx had been functioning perfectly up to this point.
Have a multimeter but no other tools to check it with any hints/clues gratefully received.
AR9x Issue
Re: AR9x Issue
Please do tell what battery are you using.
Also what mods were done to the radio, and what hardware did you add to it.
What RF module are you using.
After you answer this, you might have to get your multimeter out and do some voltage and resistance measurements, perhaps some soldering as well. Are you comfortable with it?
If so we can proceed to try to repair the radio, or you can contact JK at Ar9x.net..

Re: AR9x Issue
Cheers4Reply,Tho Mines been Late
The Tx has had the Telemetry modifications cited by flygear in the RCGroups AR9x Thread along with the backboard module pin cuts on No 2 & 5.
Replaced power switch due to original falling apart & did the Horizontal Trim fix recomended in this forum somewhere(cant find link).
Other Info:
AR9X Rev B ver 1.2
ATSAM 3S8C AU Chip
Hobbyking LiFe 1500Mah Tx Battery
HC-05 Master Bluetooth
DS3231 Clock
Multimodule 4in1 V1.1.6.21 (Inv Telem & #define MULTI_TELEMETRY)
Spektrum DM9
FrSky DJT
Neglected to say i can do basic soldering, made and configured an OpenXsensor which works fine(thanks 2 Mstrens).

Re: AR9x Issue
ok, details on how did you connected the Bluetooth module.. Pictures of the BT module please.
I am starting to believe that you might have wiped out the firmware from the radio when you added the bluetooth. You see, there is one BT pin that connects to the Ar9x "Chip Erase" pin, and if that pin is high at power ON the processor is completely erased..
Actually, I believe that OpenTX DOES NOT support the bluetooth module.. Someone correct me if I'm wrong please.
No need to do the Horizontal trims mod if you install the Ar9x board.. That mod is valid only for the 9X stock board.

Re: AR9x Issue
The BT is an HC-05 which i could configure as a master set up 4 ERSKY9X which i had left still connected to board. When I had ,had Open Tx 2.2 loaded 4 some time without a problem i had disabled it in the Menu
Re: AR9x Issue
My advice is disconnect the BT if you want to use opentX.
Also I think you might have to try flashing the firmware using samba. If the Bossa driver is being recognized, it means the processor is working..
Please go here, and at the end of the first post there are some tutorials for using SAMBA to flash the Ar9x board.

If you have extra hardware installed on your radio, like extra pots and switches, as well as the BT, I recommend staying with Ersky9x, unless you have a very good reason to change of course.. But then you should remove the non supported hardware, to avoid bad surprises..
