Try in the "Save As" window, click in the window er9x-128.hex and change it to "er9x-128.bin".
And set under this (Save as type) to "All Files".
Could try downloading the er9x128.bin zipped file I posted, it may work too.[/s

It looks like all the er9x firmwares are saved as .hex files.
Can we just change the .hex file to .bin ? :?:
I did and downloaded it as a .bin file. (I have not tried to flash it.)

er9x firmare files are supposed to be .hex files. I wouldn't try to flash a bin file if I were you..
Mike, please correct me if I'm wrong.
er9x "can" use bin files as eeprom files, not firmware..

Let's not confuse the person we're helping even more.. :)

My error, Sorry.
I saw that the erSky9x firmware files are .bin files and jumped to thinking they all should be .bin files.
I had missed seeing he reported he was getting "er9x-128.htm" a .htm file.
How dose this happen for him ? :?:

There are two different 9xr radios.
The older 9xr and the newer 9XR-Pro.
Which radio do you have ? :?:

done a search all references are to 9xr pro

is that correct ?,
as it downloads as an htm file, which will not work to flash
- I thought firmware always \ downloaded as an .hex or .bin file!

why should that be?
am using latest eepe etc!
should I use the firmware same 821 in another 9xr,
downloaded and reflash the problematic 9xr ?

I do not know/understand, how/where, you got the "er9x-128.htm".
I wonder where/how you got the (upgrade a 9xr to ver 820 of nov 2016) and/or .htm file ?

I tried all the firmware files from, ER9X (revision 821) and all are .hex files,.
You should be able to download from here (http://www.er9x.com/) this "er9x for Mega128 processor (right click and select 'save as')"
and get "er9x-128.hex".

João, could stotty1111, also have messed up the Fuses when he was trying to flash with the (9xr to ver 820 of nov 2016) and/or "er9x-128.htm" ? :?:

I don't think so, he did flash his radio successfully, right??

João

EDIT: Actually I'm wrong here.. It is possible to mess the fuses up in a way that the radio still can be flashed with firmware, and the eeprom also downloaded and flashed back, but the radio does not work normally when turned ON..

Hi stotty1111,
Two things, if you could answer.

Are you still getting er9x-128.htm when downloading the er9x-128.hex from here (http://www.er9x.com/) ? :?:

Also I looked at your past post for help and you have been using 9x, 9xr and 9xr-pro radios way back from 2014.
Seem you have at least one 9x, two 9xr's and two 9xr-pro's.
One of the 9xr was a junk one (broken) when you got it and was trying to fix it, I believe.
Just trying to get a clear understanding of all the problems that maybe be with your problem 9xr radio.
The 9xr, you have problems with, has it ever worked properly for you ? :?:

1 searches of this site all seem to refer to 9xr pro re unbricking
2 wrong ref on my part should have been revision 821 not ver821 !
using er9x-m128 and save as, the window opens with er9x as file name, and save as type - html doc, if I try to change to another extension I just get all files - hence my confusion, now I know to add .hex to the file . - maybe its my laptop? previously firmware files have downloaded correctly.
3 yes I am unless I add .hex and it is from the er9x site!
I cannot decide if your final question is curiosity or impertinence. all my my queries on the site have been for specific issues with the relevant tx's, if you read them carefully some are issues other members of my club have experienced, my club being French, they have had probs gaining info in French for their kit, so I tap the available knowledge on this site.
I build and sail model boats, 9x's were cheap originally and with the assistance of this site I arrived at a point where they worked for my applications, subsequently a 9xr arrived it was 'duff', replaced with a new perfect one, another arrived via leboncoin.fr here a la frog and earlier this year sorted the 2 to work with my double motored competition steering boats. Other members of the club have bought tx's via lebon.... now mainly 9xr pros, and because of this info source I have taken it upon myself to assist them with their tx's - I am not an expert but can arrive ,with external help, with workable solutions hence my questions!
all my tx's now work perfectly thanks to help from ope.... as do other club members kit
hopefully subject now closed until the NEXT problem encountered!
Thanks to one and all for your assistance

One thing you can do is download the firmware via eepe.

Good to know that you help your friends. I believe that is the right way to be in this hobby, and in this life. Respect.. :)

Hi stotty1111,
Not impertinence, but difficulty understanding what the problem was. :?
Your native language to English (translation), I have difficulty understanding with some of your post, as your sentences run together.
I was not sure how much knowledge you had about 9xr and using er9x / eepe.
Also to where you were finding and using information about 9xr /er9x / eepe.
I ask questions to assemble more information so to better know the problem.
I did read your post fast and I did miss some things  , I went back and re-read them.

So I believe this problem-9xr, display-screen is now working, and you have been able to flash it using the newest er9x-128.hex file. :D

Thank you for your last post with the history of you helping your friends to solve there problem too. :D
Blessing,

Bob,

As I recall, Stotty is a native English speaker living in France. His posts seem quite clear and idiomatic to me.
