avrdude not found
avrdude not found
I have fitted the SP Basic board to my Turnigy 9X. I have loaded the drivers listed on the smartie parts site. I have loaded the latest Epee for windows.[ I have 8.1] . I have disabled the driver signature and don't have a yellow tag in the device manager, it says drivers are correct.
I have set the configuration with USB but when I attempt to burn the Er9x firmware I get the-
"avrdude not found at c:/Users/Users1/Downloads/avrdude.exe
I'm pulling my hair out hear, can someone point me in the right direction please?
Thanks in advance

Re: avrdude not found
In eepe, call up preferences and look for the "AvrDude location" setting. Change this to the place where you have installed eepe.

Re: avrdude not found
Mike, would it be possible for eepe to look for Avrdude on its installation folder automatically?
Or does it already and sometimes it fails for some reason?
Thanks
João

Re: avrdude not found
I have set the Avrdude in settings to the place where eepe is installed.
I now get a screen saying -AVRDUDE -backing up EEPROM from TX, but the screen doesn't do anything.Nothing I do makes a difference .
It's like the program can't see the TX. I have gone to device manager and get - libusbk usb device when I plug the TX to computer. Also the green led on the sp basic comes on but that's it.

Re: avrdude not found
Is there any chance the problem here is windows 8.1 not recognizing the driver or something simple like that???

Re: avrdude not found
Please copy the text in the output window and post it here. If it has disappeared, use the "Burn" menu and select "Review Output" to get the text displayed again.

when I try to burn to TX a window appears with -AVRDUDE- backing up from TX. but the window remains blank even for 20mins or more.
When I pull up the review output the window appears showing reviewing burn output ,but it is also blank

Re: avrdude not found
The location entry needs to specify the .exe file, so the full path to AvrDude.
Something like:
C:/programs/eepe/avrdude.exe

My computer skills are limited but I'm starting to catch on, here is the review output screen . I have done the 1K resistor fix on the trainer and reversed the trainer switch so it has to be held on to work ,will this cause a problem?

Re: avrdude not found
OK, things are working up to the connections between the SP basic board and the main board. The usual suggestion at this point is to make sure the pads on the main board are really clean, with no solder flux residue on them.

Thanks for you're help.I have cleaned all the connections, this time I have a different message in the review output. I'll get this sorted before I pull the last of my hair out

Re: avrdude not found
You only need to highlight the text and copy it, then paste it directly in a post, rather than do a screen dump.
Things are now working, that report is just telling you you have an ATMEGA128 processor rather than an ATMEGA64.
Just change the "mcu" setting to "m128", and also change the version to download to be "er9x - 128 - frsky".
DON'T use the -F option.
