Open Companion 2.1.1

Post by Richard »

It seems that the new version is missing in the telemetry tab A1 and A2 settings. Does anyone know anything about this?
Thank you :(

Those are not a "special case" anymore, they're autodetected like other sensors and alarms are made with logical switches and special functions again like for everything else.

Kilrah. That is an important clarification. Although personally, I do not like it, I guess a modification will depend on how the users feel about this new SW. Any comment about the information shown in the Logical switches that is partially missing and the values shown are wrong?

What do you mean?

As explained in the version info anything related to telemetry has changed completely and needs to be reconfigured from scratch when moving from 2.0 to 2.1.

Well, it looks that once again, I missed to read the thread. Now I know that IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!!
Anyhow, given that assuming is not good business, I will ask a dummy's question, just in case I am missing something again:
Is there any incompatibility between transmitter FW 2.0.15 and companion SW 2.1.1? Should I upgrade the transmitter FW to the last version also? (I remember that companion 2.0 was not compatible with Transmitter 1.0). I have a Taranis system. (not Plus).
Thanks a lot for your responses. You are giving me a good "education" on how to avoid to crash another plane, like I did when I went from 1.0 to 2.0, where again, I missed to read important information.
Will be looking for your comments before my next takeoff.

Yes, both must be of the same branch (same first 2 digits in version number) to work together. If you read data from a radio running 2.0 with companion 2.1 and save it back the radio won't recognise it, and the only way to continue using your settings on 2.0 will be to restore a backup that was made with 2.0.

That's all on the Downloads page with relevant links now.

Kilrah, Coming back to 2.1, you indicated that the sensor will auto detect the battery, which I will take your word for it. Unless in US we are late with new sensors, the existing analog sensor requires calibration, and apparently in 2.1 there is no way to set the analog sensor calibration. What I surely found, is that the LiPo sensors do not require calibration, and they are really accurate. My question is then, is there an analog voltage sensor as accurate as the LiPo sensor? Point is, I need to measure NiCd and NiMH batteries.

The analog voltage sensors work just well, and the "calibration" settings are still there, just placed somewhere else.

I hope i ask my question in right post :)
On 2.0.17 firmware you can see cells and cell value.
On 2.1.3 it only finds cells sensor.
How can i get the lowest cell value on screen and to set alarm?
Thanks in advance!
