Help. Companion9x file structure

Post by csquared »

Hi.
I am working with Companion9x. I do not yet have a transmitter. I am on a waiting list.
I am trying to work with sound and graphics. I have set the SD Structure Path in Preferences to the location of the BMP, LOGS, MODEL and SOUND directories. I have downloaded and unzipped the sound files and some model bit maps. I can run the companion9x and simulate the transmitter. I can maneuver to the SD CARD menu and move down to the .wav files. When I select one and try to play it nothing plays??? When I go into SETUP for a model I am unable to see any Model Images???
When I go to Custom Functions and try to add a Play Track no tracks are listed??? Part of the simulator seems to know the path to these sounds / images and other parts do not??? Does Companion9x actually play these sound files or do I need a transmitter??? Should I be able to see these model images in Companion9x???

Companion9x doesn't have audio playback functions.

Pointing the SD structure path to a valid folder however allows you to see and select both the model images and sounds in the relevant lists. If you don't have the sounds in the custom functions list it may be that you mention a SOUND folder, while it must be SOUNDS, followed by a subdirectory for the language, and that language must be selected in the General settings. e.g. SOUNDS/en by default.

Once selected in the custom functions there's a play button, that's all (and it's still there).

But the simulator doesn't play sounds and never did.

Thanks. I changed SOUND to SOUNDS and they all show up now in Custom Functions. I also moved my .bmp files from MODEL to BMP. They also show up. What goes in the MODEL directory?? Somehow I missed the fact that Companion9x did not play sounds. I doubt it is easy, but it sure would be nice if it did. I can now continue with my audio programming. I can not wait to get my radio.
Thanks so much for the help.

MODEL is for single model files used by the archive/restore functions on the model select page.
