Hmm, I've recently come across a thread title saying Do not use SAM-BA 2.12, stick to 2.11...

Apparently that's exactly the reason :P

well.
I found I have a copy of samba 2.11 with Mike's applet stored in my PC already. so uninstalled 2.12 and installed 2.11.
1st, the 2.11 hesitate to start, you have to wait a few second before the program screen show up , but it shows up correctly and I test it by connecting to ersky9x and no problem. just to start the program is like take forever (compare to 2.12)
then I did the same thing with 2.11 through Companion read from eeprom and saved the file.
open the file , you know what, It did the same thing. only can open the 1st model, attempt to open other model ---> kick me out of the program just like before. :? :? :cry:

I use a batch file to run SAM-BA from the command line:

Code: Select all

@ECHO OFF
:: Start SAM-BA
START sam-ba.exe \USBserial\COM8 at91sam3s4-9x
:: Wait a second more details here http://www.robvanderwoude.com/wait.php pipe output to nul so ping doesnt display
PING 127.0.0.1 -n 2 > NUL
:: End the tasklist process preventing SAM-BA from opening
TASKKILL /F /IM tasklist* > NUL
Change the COM8 to suit your com port.
Thes sorts the long delay on windows 7.

thx mike. I will put that in a batch file to run it. but the main problem is Comanion9x either can't download the bin file completely / open the bin file and can't select other model , every time I try open another model beside model #1, the companion 9x stopped working. Then window gives me the message: companion9x running into error looking for ways to solve it and then say not solvable and shuts the Companion9x down.
I use Win7 64 Ultimate.

I will try to send a splash screen with downloaded bin back to the Tx tonight and see if those model other than model#1 is messed up.

I just saw there is a ersky9x v100 available, may be I should load the new one in to see. I can use companion to load the FW, right?
Also my companion9x is version 0.95 (revision 1248)

Ok, I update the FW to Ersky9x r.100 just posted today.
but I am going to make things even confusing for you guys.
while it is uploading the new FW, a screen came up ask whether to back up the eeprom, so I did. After FW is updated, it tried to write my eeprom.bin file I downloaded previously (which I cannot open but the 1st model). It says something like (blinked so fast) : this version of eeprom is not compatible... and went on by restoring the backup in the beginning.
AFter flashing, everything looks fine, all the models still in there and function as before. my splash screen is in there now. :) and FW shows r-100.

Now I tried to download eeprom again. It finished (although the bar when disappearing still shows 95-98%, not 100%). I tried both bin and hex format. Now, none of them i can open at all. :? :?
when trying open both formats, companion returns: Invalid eeprom file, c:\..\.... :? :? :?

still using sam-BA 2.11

Did you ever get this figured out? I am running into similar issues when trying to backup my ersky9x eeprom in companion. It stops at 96% with a code samba done but never finishes the export.

well I thought it was fixed. Last night I updated the new aplet files. flashed ersky9x r 112 without a glitch. read the eeprom from Tx to c9x no problem. save the eeprom file to computer seems OK.
but I cannot open other than the 1st model in the c9x (the latest version too), I can open the 1st model and view in in c9x. attempt to open other models resulted in c9x crash. :?

why can't you attach a bin? If it won't let the file type upload just zip it up. In windows you can right click > send to > compressed file. It will compress it to a .zip and you should be able to upload that.

win7 64
Italian dexription? may be it is because I don't have Italian language installed on my PC. but those were templates from an english speaking person, the servo tester is from the built in template. where the italian description is coming from?

At least you can open it. Mine won't let me do it.
