Automatic flaps up struggling

Post by rabono »

I got flaps on 2 different channels activated by LS thru a third virtual channel my goal is to have them coming up automatically at throttle above -50 in case of go around, but what ever I tried either they do not work or only partially for full flaps but noting in the middle!!??

Exactly what do you have set now?

Note that what you are trying to do is not recommended. If the flaps are down, generating extra lift, you may be flying too slowly for flaps up. Opening the throttle, causing the flaps to go up may simply lead to a stall as you have too little airspeed.

I completely agree with you being a full scale pilot myself the way to go around this, is to milk the flaps or moving them up slowly and probably in openTX just to add a delay or maybe a curb.
Anyway I am stuck to achieve this in openTX either with a curb or a logical switch i fail both way I confess!
In the OTX I did not use L01 neither curb1 since the result brought me to an undesired behavior

Try something like:

CH17 +100% S2
* 100% Thr Curve(c1) (MULTIPLY mix)
C1 set to 100, 100, 66, 33, 0

S2 then sets the flap position
With the throttle below -50%, this will be the flap position, with the flaps retracting from there to flaps up at +100% throttle. Change the curve if you want to flaps up before +100%, say 100, 100, 50, 0, 0 will retract them by +50% of the throttle.

As a former light aircraft pilot myself I know that throttle does not equal airspeed :) You can stall the aircraft at full throttle :)
So, I do think flaps shouldn't be set according to the throttle position. An airspeed sensor would be a different story though.. Better yet, an AOA sensor :)

Still, in many cases I would still not want this, aerobatics for example.

Without enter in a rhetoric not only throttle does not mean stall but speed also, since a plane can stall in any speed and in any position, stall is mostly induced by critical angle of attack above 15-25% .
In my case I am not sure yet if I will implement it I just became obsess with the solution out of reach for my small brain! Anyway this is for a warm liner coming kind of hot with plenty of power in case of bailout.

OK, so I wasn't quite right, try:
CH17 S2 Weight(50%) Offset(50%)
* 100% Thr Curve(c1) (MULTIPLY mix)
Curve 1 (a 5 point curve) set to 100, 100, 66, 33, 0

CH4: CH17 Weight(200%) Offset(-100%)
CH5: CH17 Weight(200%) Offset(-100%)
