Invalid binary EEPROM File

Post by arnie »

Hi,

I just modded my Turnigy 9X (TGY 9X) with backlight and adapter for flashing a new firmware. Before burning opentx I'm trying to backup current EEPROM and firmware. The reading process runs smoothly but the resulting file cannot be open with Companion (v2.1.9 installed). The files seem to be fine, with correct size (2K for EEPROM and 64K for firmware - Atmega 64 in my radio) and I even opened them with an hex editor, the content looks consistent as I could find the names of my models in the EEPROM and know messages in the firmware file.

I searched the forum and although lots of similar issues were found, none was my exact case, it seems that most are related to using incorrect version of companion for a given radio.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Cheers,
Arnie

That's normal, companion has no idea of what format the stock firmware's eeprom is using.
