Companion multiple radios and Profiles

Post by csquared »

I have a question about multiple radios, profiles and sharing models through Companion.

I assist others with their Taranis radios. We Have a small group consisting of five radios. Four of them are Taranis X9D's , a new one is a X9D Plus. All the radios stay reasonably up to date and are running OpenTX 2.1.x . I am wondering what I need to look out for when I connect these different radios to my computer while trying to assist others.

Do I need a separate Profile for each of these radios?

If I setup separate Profiles the paths will not match another persons computer setup. Does this cause problems?

When I "read from radio" I believe I get the Models and General Settings. Can the General Settings get confused between these Radios?

Are the eeprom files unique to each radio due to the General Settings portion?

Does the Profile ever get read or written between the Companion and the Radio?

can I share models between these Radios? What happens to capabilities in the "Plus" that are not in the other radios?
