In Flight adjustment of GV

Hi,

Using Taranis and OpenTx 2.1

I am trying to set up elevator compensation when I vary the throttle on my model. I have been able to set up the compensation okay but I want to be able to adjust this in-flight using a slider

I have struggled to get my head around linking the slider to the GV. I would really appreciate any help and in particular a sample of an eepe file so I can progress. It's driven me mad trying to do it. (I have used an MPX P4000 for years but age has removed to many brain cells).

Thanks for the quick reply.

I tried that but I had a setting wrong somewhere as the elevator moves through -25 > 25 when I adjust the slider. The GV is set at 25. I have a curve Linear 0>25.

Thanks again for your reply. I certainly appreciate your efforts to help but adding another GV and introducing the Throttle Trim is confusing me now (not hard). I know there is a way to do this just using the slider and that is what I would like to do.

I don't normally use OpenTX but here is an eepe from companion 2.1.1. see if it does what you want.
Adjust the amount of compensation on channel 9. Make sure the weight and offset values are equal..

Glad it worked
I had to remember how to work with GVARs in openTX. I use ersky9x which is a bit different.

@ the developers, one thing that had me scratching my head a little is that (at least in companion) I had to set the switch field (first field) to ON for the GVAR to work. I think it doesn't make sense because:
1- I wasn't using a switch to control the GVAR.
2- The GVAR was enabled.. The "ON" (enable) box was checked as you can see in the eepe file I've posted above.

So, if i don't want to use a switch, and the GVAR is ON (enabled), and all the other fields are set, then it shouldn't be necessary to set the switch field to ON for it to actually work.

I see one of the issues I had was setting the weight and offset. I know there is a formula that gives movement of 20% in the control surface when the Weight of 5% and Offset of 5%. I'll have a look and find out what it is.

For 20% use 10% weight and 10% offset.

Hi João,

I actually get 20% movement with 5% Weight and 5% Offset in the file you sent me. That is why I was looking around to see what the formula is. I can see it has changed over different versions of OpenTx.
