error flashing internal xjt via taranis tx on opentx 2.1.7

When I try to flash firmware to taranis plus internal xjt rf I get an error. It comes up with a bar and says writing. Nothing happens for 2 or 3 seconds, then it comes up error. I am unable to bind my x series rx to the tx. Any ideas what to do to rectify this problem?

I do not use opentx 2.1.7 and so I am not able to help.

But I believe if you use the radio firmware erSky9x on Taranis it will work (http://www.er9x.com/).

When did you purchase your Taranis plus, and was it purchased within the EU?
I've seen some reports that recent EU units may have a lock on the internal XJT (with the latest EU LBT firmware) that prevents them from being flashed with older (and non-EU) firmware.
If this is the case, it is because FrSky are already complying with a regulatory requirement that is required later this year.

How can I tell if the internal xjt is working? Is there any way of knowing if it transmitting a rf signal? I think that my internal xjt isn't working. Am I able to buy just the rf board by itself?

No way to know for sure without specific test equipment if you can't get a receiver to work.

You can buy the back board yes.

Got a new backboard in the mail today. Took two attempts to get the aerial soldered right. Works perfect now. Flashed the firmware no problems. Is there anywhere i can send the defective board to get looked at to see if it can be repaired?
