Looks promising, but output is not correct size..yet. The height is correct, but the width was not expanded. The sharpness of the output is very good. The output file is in the zip

It took a bit of work, but here are decent versions for the mCX2 and AS3Xtra. I had trouble finding a guide, so I just used Paint.NET for the cropping and b&w conversion, then used netpbm on my linux system to scale it and 4 bit it. I've tossed the command down here in case I forget and maybe someone else likes the ol' Linux too.

Like all the other posts, you want the zip file.

Code: Select all

pngtopnm mCX2_bw.png | pnmscale -xsize=64 -ysize=32 | pnmdepth 4 | ppmtobmp > mCX2.bmp
Edit: Removed AS3Xtra, which is done better below.

You did a good job. One area that seemed to give you trouble was the whites in the AS3Xtra. I find I have to convert the whites to grey so they standout from the background - if I don't there appears to be holes in the image.

Do you make the whole image a little grayer or *just* the whites? I'll give it a try on the mCX2, which looks okay but *could* be a little darker. Also, deleted my AS3Xtra so there isn't any confusion.

I extract the aircraft from the background. Then I slide the whites up from a value of 255 to about 180. (working in 8bit) This compresses the tone values in the aircraft from 255 values to only 180 values, leaving the highest 75 values for the background. Then when I put the aircraft back on white background all of the aircraft - even the highest key values will stand out from the background.

I searched the page for a Tricopter image. I saw someone talking about one but no actual image. Can Anyone put one in or do I need to submit a picture?

I searched the pages for the DJI F450 and the DJI F550 images and did not find them. Is there someone who is willing to make them for me. My knowledge is to limited for that. Thank you.
