Rx switch for LED's
Rx switch for LED's
I am thinking about picking up the turnigy on/off switch to use an open channel on my Frsky X8R to power on and off the led's on my build.I was just wondering do the led's need to be 5v or 12v.I'm assuming they need to be 5v but the 5v versions seem to not be as popular as the 12v units.I am sorry for such a basic question but I am very new to this and I have to start somewhere. Thanks
Re: Rx switch for LED's
That depends on what you are building and how you are powering it. You should also find out how much current your LED setup takes. Very bright LEDs will take more current than normal ones.
For a model powered by a 3 cell LiPo battery, maybe the best is to get some 12V LED strips.
Maybe links to the stuff you are looking at would help..

Re: Rx switch for LED's
Think of something like this Step up, step down converter where you can set the required output voltage independent of your battery having higher or lower supply voltage than required.
