turnigy 9x set, with IA8 afhds 2A rx

ok, a club member has just received the above kit as a result of the recent hobbyking sales event.
Some questions re this kit
the transmitter can presumably be re progged with er9x?
will it work with earlier v2 receivers? if so how would it be set up?
it will obviously work with a new ia8 rx, any special setup procedures ie protocols etc
the system will be used in a boat situation
sorry for appearing to be a little dumb/dim!

This I think is what you are referring to. Please provide the link next time.

Reprogramming requires a suitable programmer.

EDIT
It appears that the new transmitter with 2a protocol IS NOT compatible with the older V2 receivers.

As for flashing to ER9X, it can certainly be done with the right programmer, but I’m not clear whether the latest version of ER9X covers the 2a protocol.

I’d suggest using the new stock firmware, which is supposed to be improved. It should do everything needed.

It won't work with earlier receivers. You should have nothing to set up other than defaults.

ok, thanks for the info, bit remiss of hobbyking/turnigy not indicating no retro compatibility. hobbyking respondedto the question today, they are working on a fix which will make the new system retro compatible!
Flashed the tx with er9x , replacing the module with an old version the system works as previously --- have an old module working pcb i'll have get a module box from banggood, and use a spare 9xr internal antenna, problem solved!
