Could be June for the 'public' beta tests to be done and dusted. I reckon on release during 3rd quarter, and probably around the £500 to £550 price range.
The simpleton asked "Hows about ErSky9X for Horus???". And the Genius from Dorset replied "Why not indeed? I shall get right onto it!" And then there was light on Horus! And it was good!

Not sure if anyone here would know, but I have been reading that the Horus has a GPS module in it. What would it be for?

I know the wireless and bluetooth usefulness, but cannot figure out the reason/s for having GPS ...

TIA for any insight ...

Hi RCHH,
I was thinking the same way :? , but I read somewhere, having GPS in your RC radio and GPS in your model,
will make it possible to show where a lost model has landed from the place where you and your GPS RC radio is.
Also, will be able to see your flight path and distance flown from RC radio.
We may want to be adding GPS to our 9x radios and have erSky9x and eepSkye work more with GPS data to help us.
Having GPS data to find lost models and to view our flight path after flying can be a real help for us.
This may be a safety help for us also.

I already have GPS coordinates displayed on my 9X/Sky9X from the MAVlink/FrSky telemetry system Mike wrote, and have confirmed it gives accurate positions good enough to find a model - not that I have lost one recently .... again! lol

I suppose taking things further, if a GPS unit in a TX is giving the potential to have a 'map' displayed on said TX, now that would be something very useful indeed. Could open up all sorts of possibilities like mission planning with no need for a computer at the field etc.

And with the like of Genius man about - who knows!!!

I was flying an electric with a person next to me flying a jeti. My repaired Taranis A was sounding off altitude and lipo cells and lipo voltage, all from a test easy star plane I use.
He asked me what I was using for a Rc system, I said a Taranis. He replied, that's the Chinese system isn't it? I sad yes, and mentioned how reliable and how inexpensive the receivers and sensors are. I asked him why he didn't use they option in his Jeti for his various electric foam planes he had with him? He replied " I can't afford to buy it for my small planes".
I get the same answer from the new high end spektrum owners flying sport electric planes. I've been told it's another $89-100 per plane to add full range telemetry for altitude and lipo voltage. It's also extra electronics to find room for?
Being all Frsky for 4+ years, all my planes report at least lipo voltage, and now with Sport X receivers, I make the vario the last sensor in the string so I can easily move one to planes I don't fly regularly to save the cost.
Velcro and a 3 pin servo wire/plug. So easy and fast to add or move sensors.
I'm sold!

I would like to see a new Taranis-Plus II with the display screen at the top.
And I would to see someone with a 3D-printer, make a new front case for the 9x (9Xtreme) radios
with the display screen at the top too. :D

Funny that this design seems to be new fashion at the moment. :)
I do like the pots at the bottom.
looking at the sliders on the sides, it looks like it is a tray radio.

It's just the "natural" design for today's uses, where the screen isn't only useful for bench programming anymore, most new radios will have that sort of design just like dozens of them before that used something similar to the 9X/Taranis case.

Its a natural evolution. When i use my radios with the neck strap, i have to remove the strap in order to see the screen, so this had to be done. Its ergonomics speaking high.

It doesnt cost that much if you compare it to a futaba 14sg or a spektum dx9, with much less features. Well its not cheap, but if compare to this one or this one, then its worth it. Features and quality for the price, its ok. Its not overpriced like futaba.

Octávio, you don't know the quality of it until you grab one.. And for the price they will sell, I would want to at least hold it in my hands before I buy it. It is not a cheap radio like the 9x, or even the Taranis.

João, you have to check the reviews on YouTube. The quality is good, normally the reviewers say that some switch should be here or there. But nothing regarding quality. If it will last or not, nobody can tell at this stage.
