No wonder Graupner are having a hard time to stay afloat. In the past their name and products were the tops. So sad to see them doing stuff like this, especially as Europe is the tray region of the World.

They DO have a tray serie.. Look at the second link on his post.. And I do like the looks of the tray radios even if they look too tray(ish) to me..

A friend at the club has that radio.. One think I don't like is that there isn't a real power switch.. that for me is a turn off..
And I think it has some limitations too, compared to the firmware we use.. Also my friend says that is quite difficult to work with..

Actually the radios are selling like hot cakes, and that division is pretty much their only one that's profitable!
They were jsut bought by SJ, the manufacturer of the radios, and are now dropping most of the "other" product lines...

What's so horrible about it? To me it looks pretty nice. A lot better than their previous radios And it looks very much like other modern radios. In my corner of Europe the tray flyers are few and far between. Perhaps 1 out of 5 of the oldtimers in the clubs and 1 out of 100 of the younger guys.

The only thing that is hurting my eyes is the overly colored and cluttered display images. I guess that the designers were so happy to have access to a color display that they made sure to use as many colors as possible in each and every image.

It´s not a tray radio I guess I have it all the time at my club, don't worry.. I keep being told that my radio is ridiculous
My answer: I like it, it's mine, and it's 50 times better than the s**t you're using

I don't care for the Blaaack case, but the shape is good. They did go crazy with the colors on the displays and while the telemetry displays are not too bad, I think that they could be simpler and more efficient / easier to read at a glance. You do not exactly have a lot of time to devote to looking at the display when you are flying..

And that is where they have in my opinion fallen down, along with making it a touch screen. It is cluttered which for anyone with big fingers and old eyes will have problems with.

The transmitter case looks much like any other bottom end transmitter (9X and 9XR included) with a bit of bling added to please the people that like there toys to be shiny. As for it being black.. Hmmm Wish it wasn't black. It would look far better in a light colour.

Ohh! .. And it isn't a tray radio, so all the switches and other controls are crowded on each other.

If all the radios in the world were tray radios and silver like probably most of the are, they would be booooooring..
Give me a "normal" black radio with a RGB LED backlight and I'm happy

I don't find it ugly, and I like the fact it has the pots under the sticks. Very easy to reach. But is that a spektrum type antenna?
If so I think it will be always pointing the antenna at the model? Can it be turned? If not, it is a major flaw in my opinion..
The problem of some radios is that sometimes they are designed by people with null knowledge of RC.
If it is module based, and depending on the processor inside, I believe it is a good candidate for hacking
