erskyTx runs on many radios and upgrade boards

problem with the right gimbal

Post by kasturiGM »

hello guys,
i just got my ar9x board and still learning to configure this thing. i just realized that my right gimbal does not seem to register the input for up and down or channel 1 on the right gimbal. channel 2 is ok and i can move it to left and right. i realized this when trying to calibrate the radio. if u see on the picture attached, the default position for the stick on channel 1 is on top and not on the centre even when i move the stick, it does nothing. but y axis seems to be ok. at first i thought there is something to be setup, but went through the manual and could not find anything about this. i tried to re-plug the header for the gimbal twice but still did not do anything. it couldn't be the gimbal, because i have a spare one and the same thing happened after i swap the gimbal with the spare one. do i have a faulty board?

hurm...i am still waiting for JK to response as i got the board from him. does anyone have experience returning a faulty board to him? would he bear all the cost involved? i am hoping this is just a minor firmware issue and just need reflashing but until further confirmation or direction from any of well experienced team here i would not want to risk damaging the board even more.

Please go Radio Setup / DiagAna. Now look at the 4 values at the top. Do they change when you move the stick? If they all change please post the values For "RV" and "RH" when the sticks are at both ends and in the middle.
The values we want are the group of four digits or letters in front of the stick name. For example:

RV 03F0
RH 0407

As I said above, do this for both end positions and middle position.
By the way "RV" means the Right Vertical stick (your elevator), and "RH" means the Right Horizontal stick (your aileron).

JK has just responded and told me to do the same thing. i can't find the RV and RH. I can only see A1,A2 and so on. but i can only tell u that the value did not change when i move that particular stick. i am pretty sure that channel does not register anything because it can't even trigger the light to switch on when i move it.

Ok, you have an older version of the firmware installed. Therefore you have A1, A2, etc.
The value on A3 doesn't move? What about A4? Is this one ok?

the other values are moving. only a3 is not moving. a several test on other place such as calibration, triggering the light, on the display sticks also confirm that the stick is dead. i thought i already have the latest version.

with the help of joao, thank god the board is working now. apparently there is a solder bridge underneath the board. manage to slice that thing out using my shivering hand.
