9Xtreme, FrSky DJT, no servo output
Re: 9Xtreme, FrSky DJT, no servo output
well, you will have to find a way of testing your frsky gear on another radio..
The only logical explanation I find is that there is no logical explanation..
Please answer Mike's question about the RSSI

Re: 9Xtreme, FrSky DJT, no servo output
It looks like you have with the FrSky D8R-XP receiver, the Red + battery power not to the center pin.
This could be your problem.

However, you do see the A1 telemetry value. Do you also see RSSI and TSSI values ?
Here pic's with the Rx battery not connected (lower pic)
With Rx battery connected (upper pic)
I am not really sure about the A1 It is internally coupled. I still have a lot to find out.
A2 is not connected Yet, I ordered a voltage divider for future use.

Re: 9Xtreme, FrSky DJT, no servo output
I'm beginning to wonder if the PPM output is damaged, but the way it is handled by the Assan module is different from the way the DJT operates. For example, if it is only driving low, and the Assan module has a pull up resistor, this would work, but may not work on the DJT module.
There are two ways the PPM signal may be tested.
1. If you have a trainer cable, swtitch the Tx on, plug one end in to the trainer socket, and navigate to the trainer menu. Now hold the tip of the other end of the trainer cable on the PPM pin (top pin) of the module connector. The 4 numbers at the bottom of the screen should show the PPM outputs.
2. Go here: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=4676#p65894 and download "ersky9x9XT_romPpmST.zip". Extract the .bin file and flash this to the 9Xtreme board. When you power on, this special firmware does a self test of the actual pin of the processor that drives the PPM signal.
Also, on the receiver, is the green LED on dimly (which it should be when working correctly)?
Mike.

1.
The numbers are,
cal 1.0 -0.8 -102.8 -2.8
2.
PPM Output
Self Test Failure.
Also, on the receiver, is the green LED on dimly (which it should be when working correctly) ?
When connecting battery to Rx from bright blinking RED Led to dim GREEN Led

Re: 9Xtreme, FrSky DJT, no servo output
My conclusion is the PPM output signal is not being driven low, only high. The test using the trainer cable will still work, but the self test will fail.
I just flashed that special self test version to my 9Xtreme, and it did not show a self test failure. I assume you did the test without a module plugged in, I meant to mention that.
If you have a 1K0 resistor available, you could try connecting that between the PPM signal (top pin of module connector) and ground (4th pin from top) as a pull down and see if the DJT then works.

Re: 9Xtreme, FrSky DJT, no servo output
Your a genius it seems to work.
Tomorrow I will solder it permanently in place.
Can I still use the Assan ?
I consider to solder the resistance internally in the DJT module.
Thanks,
Fred

Re: 9Xtreme, FrSky DJT, no servo output
The signal should normally drive both high and low.
The Assan should still work.
I would put the resistor on the back board, otherwise you would need to put one in every DJT.

Re: 9Xtreme, FrSky DJT, no servo output
I would contact Steven from Smartieparts..
Also, DO NOT remove or insert modules when the radio is ON. That could damage the PPM pin on the processor. I have seen more cases than I would like to..

To be complete.MikeB wrote:The signal should normally drive both high and low.

Mike.
- The Assan module didn't work with the resistor on the back plate.
So I soldered the resistor inside the DJT.
(See Pic.)
Now both work again.
Should I re-flash the Radio with the normal FW ?
Thanks again for Your patience.
I will inform Steven.

Re: 9Xtreme, FrSky DJT, no servo output
I too am having no servo response with my 9xtreme board installed in my fs-th9x. I reinstalled the board. I checked all the cable connections. The helicopters I am using all fly with their own transmitters (V911 and V933). For the V933 I am using an HT8 module that plugs into back of the transmitter with a cable and i know I have good contact. I tried the trainer cable and I get no change in the calibration readings. The screen on the Flysky shows stick movement. And all the helicopters bind. Did I somehow looses all the electrons in one of chips? I didn't see any smoke.
Thanks in advance

Have you tried changing the PPM output polarity?
