Re: ersky9x does not recognize 3 position switch
ErSky9x recognizes a switch only if you tell it to.
Have you set up a mix involving the three position switch?
Here's a mix that will give -100, 0, 100 from the three positions respectively:
CH5 100 sIDx
This means that the mix is on channel 5, has weight of 100 and uses the three position switch (sIDx) as the Source. Be sure to leave the Switch field in Edit Mix as blank (---).
By the way, in earlier versions sIDx was called 3POS in the Source menu.
I'm not sure this is quite what your flight controller needs but it should give you a starting point.

Just set the source to sIDx as Daedalus66 said. It's the next item in the source list after CH24.

ersky9x does not recognize 3 position switch
You don't enter "-100, 0, 100"
It's explained above but here it is in more detail.
Go to Mixer screen.
Go to CH5
Press Menu
Go to Source
Press Menu and then Right key till you get to sIDx
Press Menu
Press Exit three times
Choose the graphic main screen (or the numeric main screen)
Test the Three Position Switch
It's all explained (with pictures) in the manual.
Note that I don't know exactly how your flight controller wants things set up. For example, whether channel 5 is the right one.

Re: ersky9x does not recognize 3 position switch
yeah its channel five and when I go thru the whole set up on open pilot it doesn't recognize the 3 position switch its only giving me a two toggle position or a regular switch because its not recognizing 3 on TX set up
Re: ersky9x does not recognize 3 position switch
Please find out what values your flight controller wants to see on channel 5.
Nigel would have explained step by step how to program the switch, but without knowing what the FC expects to see, it is impossible..

Re: ersky9x does not recognize 3 position switch
With channel 5 configured as described above, please go to the main screen that shows horizontal "bars" for the channel outputs.
The "bar" for channel 5 should show three positions as you move the 3-position switch, fully left, in the middle and fully right.

Re: ersky9x does not recognize 3 position switch
Two separate things here. Please don't mix them.
1. Read the manual for your flight controller and find out what it requires by way of settings on the various channels. In particular, what does it need on channels 5 and 6 to control flight modes, etc. You should get help on an appropriate quad forum if necessary, as people here don't know the specifics of what you need to do.
2. Setting up the radio is the easy part -- as long as you can specify how it should be set up. See item 1 above. All the information you need to get the three position switch working on channel 5 is provided above. When you go to the graphic screen on the radio (the one with the bars), what happens? Don't talk about Open Pilot, just tell what you see on the radio screen when you flip the switch. If it doesn't work, we can tell you how to fix it.
When you sort out these two things you should be able set up your transmitter to work with Open Pilot.

You might find this helpful -- I'm guessing that it applies to your setup. It shows the Taranis transmitter, which uses similar firmware to your 9XR Pro. When they say switch SB, think three position on yours.

It looks as though using channel 5 is correct.
Hope this helps.
