I have been given a ASK-21M glider with a motor on a retractable pod. Currently I have the pod controlled by the gear switch and I have a mix on the throttle that will not start unless the pod is up and that works fine except today I had a problem on final and I was not quick enough to raise the pod and then throttle up before I had a hard arrival off the end of the strip.
Can someone suggest a mix that would use the first quarter of the throttle to raise the pod and then act as a normal throttle from then on. Everything I have tried to date does not work, I have tried a throttle curve and several variations of that scenario to no avail. Any and all help appreciated
Dave

Re: Throttle mix
Is the pod controlled by a servo on another channel?
How long does the pod take to move up and down?
I should be possible to make it automatic, e.g. throttle down - wait to allow motor to stop, retract pod. Throttle up, if pod down, hold off throttle, raise pod, wait to allow pod to rise, enable throttle.

Re: Throttle mix
Hi Mike, yes the pod is controlled by a separate servo connected to Ch 5. It takes approximately one second to move in either direction.

Re: Throttle mix
Here is a starting setup (using channel 3 for throttle):
CH3: +100% Thr
R -100% HALF switch(L1)
CH5: +100% FULL Switch(L2) Delay(u1:d0)
CH09: +100% CH5 Delay(u0:d1)
L1: v<val CH9 98
L2: v>val Thr -99
When you open the throttle, channel 5 raises the pod, and, 1 second after starting the raising of the pod, the throttle channel outputs the selected throttle setting.
When the throttle is reduced to -100%, there is a 1 second delay, to allow the prop to stop turning, then the pod is retracted.

Re: Throttle mix
Thanks Mike I will give this a try in the morning.
Dave
Edit. Worked like a charm, just had to change the timing slightly. Once again thanks Mike.
