No, I haven't written the driver for the hardware for the SD card yet. The original prototype board I used for most of the development didn't have the SD card interface. Then the REV B board moved a lot of signals round to different pins, partly to allow the SD card I/F to be implemented, so I had to sort the code for the different pins. It was also necessary to make sure all the hardware is functioning correctly (haven't had a REV B board for so long myself). The SD card is on my list of To DO items.
I'm not sure what capacity is addressable, I think it might depend only on the software, but I'm reading up on the low level interface to SD cards so I can write the code, unless, someone already has some code I can copy!

Hmmm, I nelieve the Gruvin board might have a SD card I/F, maybe there is some code I can acquire

Try This,
http://www.atmel.com/forms/software-dow ... m:26-17930

You broke the lever off the front LCD connector?
The ribbon cable slides over the top of it, into the slot. You press the lever tabs down to lock it , some of the riibbon cable connector stcks out.

When you plug in your USB , do you get the windows Double beep.?

In the SAM-BA box for "Select as connection" - you need the select the USB - COM port.

The board needs to be connected to run SAM-BA past the startup screen.

You can also select at91sam3S4-EK for the board.

You could try to re-install SAM-BA , and do not install the zip file , Just select the Board listed above.

The SAM-BA program has basically worked for us.....The modification zip file allows for a custom board to be added.
But it does not need to be done right now...I copied my file , and maybe that cant be done...

1:You plug in the board ....get the windows beeps
2:Run SAM-BA ,
3:Select the USB/COM port in the List.
4:Select at91sam3s4-ek.
5:click connect.

What version of windows are you using?

I just did a instal on a Win7 laptop , The SAM BA program Does not install the driver

Win7 , did not install the driver.

You need to open up the device manager , and look at the "Ports"

It should show "AT91 USB to Serial Converter"

If it does not then you will need to Update the Driver ... Click the button
and show windows to the SAM-BA folder and then to the DRV folder.

Windows should install the driver.
And it now should show AT91 USB to Serial Converter"

Have you got this far?

Mike, we reinstalled , the SAM-BA , it shows the USB/COM PORT , and I select the EVAL board.
When we try to connect we get the ERROR posted above.

The Board shows up on windows as At91 USB to Serial Convertor.

Just wondering if there is a problem on XP with a COM port higher than 9. To end up with 12 suggest lots of other devices have been plugged in at some time to use up all the ports up to 11. I'm just about to do a test on this, but you could try changing the com port to something lower, as long as it doesn't conflict with another ACTIVE device.

Mike.

Edit, Just run up Xp, changed the port to COM12 and it all works fine, however I don't have anything between COM3 and COM12.
On my Windows 7 system SAM-BA takes a long time to come up (10 secs or so). I have, occasionally had a similar error message come up, running SAM-BA a second time usually works though.
