ERSky Voice Files

Post by cre8tiveleo »

Here will be a selection of voice files for the ERsky Board.

Files will be zipped.

Name of files will be open-voice.zip
er-voice.zip

open-voice will contain the open9x naming convention for files

er-voice will contain the numerical file namign convention along with a cvs file with the proper names of those files.

Feel free to post your custom voice files here. I am sure we'd all like to share.

Full Sky9X Voice Pack by Playmobil

Post by Playmobil »

Hello guys,

I'm really enjoying my ERSky9x radio!
So here goes a small contribution: a complete set will all standard system sounds and many extras.
All them was carefully tuned and tested to get the best from the standard speaker from SkyNorthDesign.

It has sequential ON and OFF sounds for triggering the two-positions switches using "BOTH" trigger events (THR, RUD, ELE, AIL and GEA).
It also has MODE sounds for triggering the three-positions switch using "ON" trigger event (ID0, ID1 and ID2);
There is also a set of generic sounds for GPS hold position, autopilot mission, etc.

Enjoy it! :geek:

looks like I have bad ID switch contact between ID0 and ID1. ;) What you know, the audio is a diagnostic tool for switches too. :)

Can I ask which tool you used to generate those files? I'd like to use these files with open9x on the ersky9x board, but open9x has more files than the ones from this voice set, which I'd like to add.

Hi mates :-)
Thanks for this unvaluable job!
Feel fre to say LAZY to me :-) but...
i can't find which ersky9x FW release can support sounds..
Latest one (r81) show only beeper and Speaker in RADIO SETUP
I insert a 2 GB sd vith directory :sound: and files in it (FAT16 formatted)
RADIO MENU say that's ready ...
Have I to format it via SDFormatter1.3 ?
..
I'll keep reading forum anyway :-)
thanks for any directions :-)

How should the file structure of an SD card look like?

Am i correctly assuming:
1) The SD card should be formatted to FAT16 or FAT32 with stock windows/mac utilities. (or should a special utility be used, i have stumbled upon a post where SDformatter utility was reccomended)
2) In the root of an SD card there should be a folder /Sound
3) The audio files must reside in the sound folder, i.e. such as /sound/0000.wav. Or should the files be in a folder within the SOUND folder?

the wav files has to be in a folder named 'voice' at root directory. My SD card is FAT32 and it works fine. I did not even format it. It just came in with FAT32 (I think all the sd cards I bought came with FAT32 default). don't know whether FAT16 works or not.

FAT works just fine. I just installed my sky9x board and my card is FAT. My files are in a folder called voice.

with the latest r110 and jhsa's voice file, the voice telemetry is in action:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aPWJuQUWC0E

you can hear the noise between words which is being searched and looking for a way to fix it by a few people posted in 'open9x' thread.

Hmmm, It seems that the beginning of the second voice goes on top of the end of the first one.. does it make sense?? maybe the radio is trying to speak too fast?

I use this soft ware. you may want to increase the output level . I use audacity for that as well as cutting off the ends of the files.

OOPS forgot the link!! here it is http://www2.research.att.com/~ttsweb/tt ... ex.php#top

You should all look at the tts.py script on the open9x svn tree.

It uses a variety of different software packages, and automates all the audio file creation.

Quite sure it could be adapted to suit er9x!

Mike.. If you fancy playing with it - let me know. I have a load of sapi voices that work with it.

In the attached file - is the free TTS(Text-To-Speech) software, with all the voices and libraries to work correctly. Really helped me a lot, for creating custom sounds for arduplane setup.

Lol... it just needs a similar version made for the sky9x board. I can make one, but don't really follow the audio details on er9x to fully know what file outputs you need.

Anyone fancy giving me a summary?

Rob:
here is the jhsa 's sound file. viewtopic.php?f=64&t=1290&p=18110#p18110

there is a doc file indicating which file is for what voice. The ersky9x needs to have all the wav file under the root directory of the microSD card in a folder called 'VOICE'.
Hope this is what you are looking for. ;)

I'm looking on here now to see how to assign the sounds "voice" to each switch as you have done but no luck yet. Is it posted on the forums the steps to do this function. All it does now is lets me know the radio is ready on boot-up.

Thanks

I don't think it is all in one place (yet!). Most of the information is in this thread (somewhere).
viewtopic.php?f=5&t=948
Eepe is reasonably up to date, the areas you need to look at are the custom switches and the safety/voice switches.

A safety switch may be set to type S, A or V.
S is safety - as before.
A is Alarm - this allows you to select an alarm sound, for the piezo speaker, that sounds when the selected switch input is active.
V is Voice - like Alarm except a voice file is played, and the switche input may also include 8, 12 or 16 seconds for a repeated voice output.
You may also select a number of voice specific switches, these replace the safety switches starting from switch 16 and working down.
A voice switch has a type of:
ON - Play voice file when selected switch turns ON
OFF - Play voice file when selected switch turns OFF
BOTH - Play voice file when selected switch changes
15 Secs - Play voice file every 15 Seconds while selected switch is ON.
30 Secs - Play voice file every 30 Seconds while selected switch is ON.
60Secs - Play voice file every 60 Seconds while selected switch is ON.
Varibl - Play the variable as numbers when the selected switch turns ON.

Custom switches also now include a timer option where you may specify how long the custom switch is ON and OFF. Such a switch is useful as the controlling input to the vioce switches.

It may seem there are several different ways of achieving the same thing. There are, things were added over time to improve possibilities.

yep, telemetry + voice = fantastic. Don't know how people can fly while trying to see all those telemetry data in flight without OSD. ;
Now with the voice, OSD is not as critical as before. Beside knowing your heading with GPS. I think in the future, it can be even programed in er9x or its variant, to 'tell' your heading with GPS data.
