SBUS FrSky Telemetry setup?

Post by Crusader »

Hi guys, sorry to be here asking questions again.

I have a FlySky TH9x with a 9Xtreme board in it running ersky9x.
I am trying to setup an FrSky lipo voltage monitor (SBUS) with a X8R receiver.
the radio knows there is telemetry as when I turn the receiver off, it complains.
But I can not see in the telemetry menu how to setup SBUS telemetry...
any help would be greatly appreciated.

I see FrSky and FrHub ??

Regards,
Neil

You seem confused with the naming here. SBUS is an output from the Rx that provides all 16 channel information for servo control.
The telemetry is SPort (Smart Port).
1. Make sure you are plugging the lipo monitor into the SPort (connector at the antenna end of the Rx).
2. Set the protocol for the Rx to "XJT" (or "PXX" for earlier firmware) in the protocol menu.
3. Set the "Usr Proto" to FrSky in the Telemetry menu.

The total battery voltage is "Ctot", the lowest cell is "Cvlt" and the individual cells are Cel1, Cel2 ... Cel6.

yes and now I am sorry, but i am even more confused, i might upgrade the firmware.

yes the telemetry module is in the smart port sorry about that.
i had the proto on pmm as soon as i changed it to pxx "no telemetry" says the radio.
so i go to the telemetry menu and if i have it on frhub it does not complain,
take it off that and it says "no telemetry"

and I cannot see those C values in any menu or display.

let me try again after upgrading it tomorrow.

Sorry for my confusion.
Oh, but thank you once again for the help and support.

Did you bind your XJT to X8R using the PXX (XJT) protocol ? :?:
Also use "Mode 5" method to bind with and in Protocols set to D16.

X8R manual:
X8R manual.zip
X8R manual (download, un-zip and open)
(448.14 KiB) Downloaded 306 times

More info here may have some help too: (viewtopic.php?f=126&t=7771#p103368).
Using PXX protocol you should see your normal "RSSI" and instead of TSSI (PPM) you will see "SWR" which good is at "0" and very bad at "50".
