Ersky9x Bug Reporting

erskyTx runs on many radios and upgrade boards
ersky9x was a port of er9x for use on the sky9x board.

ok, flashed g3. same problem, but I have some more details.
The problem is there when editing PB3 and PB4.
All the other switches I seem to be able to edit without problems..
Thanks

OK, I can see the problem. A temporary workaround is to turn off "Menu Only Edit" while you edit those two items.

Thanks Mike.. As far as I am concerned I don't need to do it. I was just trying to help the other user yesterday that wanted to know if it was possible to use all EXT pins on the 9XT..
It is quite difficult to detect bugs in the Hardware menu because we normally don't need to go there unless we install new hardware..

Thank you

There is a small flaw in the "Edit Mix" menu.
While all field names are displayed in mixed case, the name for the flight modes is displayed in upper case as "MODES" (Er9x as well)
The call in menuProcMixOne contains a literal string "MODES" instead of the defined 'variable' STR_MODES

I am having an issue with latest firmwares. I have a model witch uses frsky compatible rx. So on my 9x with 9xtreme board and xjt module I usually set it on xjt protocol and d8 mode and everything works.
On versions g5, g2, and g1 I lose connectivity. Rx is still bound but channels don't move.
On f4 everything works.
On g5 version to make it work I need to mess with dip switches on the back of xjt (to set mode d8) and set protocol to ppm rather than xjt to gain connectivity again

OK, I've found the problem, I'll get 'g7' up on er9x.com in a few minutes, just building it.

It has been over a year now since the official release of R220. Since then there has been a myriad of fixes and improvements which are/will be welcome to many users.

Most of the followers of this forum are obviously enthusiastic beta testers who are to be commended for their work without which no progress would be made.

The quality and quantity of features and fixes that Mikes provides to us is amazing. However, as a retired software development manager, I know there is a natural tendancy for developers to always want to add "just 1 more fix or feature" to a patch or release ;)

So, could I respectfully suggest that it is time to draw a line and release an official R221 for general availability?

Indeed, I've been trying to get to that point. One "problem" is I need to get someone else to build eepskye for the MAC, so need to "freeze" everything while this is done.

As far as I know, you need QTCreator installed on the MAC, then just get the latest source files from the Github repository (Master branch), and build the project "eepskye".

The usual person who does this has said he will be able to do the build at the weekend.

following changes had to be done to make it compile...

added
#include <QDoubleSpinBox> to "modeledit.h"

added
#include <QCheckBox> to "loggingDialog.h"

wasn't sure what number to use for SVN_VER_NUM in stamp-eepskye.h, it is currently 421... let me know what you want for that.

file attached is actually "eepskye.dmg" needed to rename it to eepskye.hex to make it "attach" without complaining. rename to eepskye.dmg before attempting to use it.

I'll get those changes done so the repository is correct.
SVN_VER_NUM needs to be 422 in stamp-eepskye.h.
I think I need to put stamp-eepskye.h in the repository, it is normally created when I run a command line build for the Windows version, then used when I build the Linux version.

Regarding the Linux version, currently I can only build a 32-bit version (in a virtual box). I still need to create a 64-bit virtual box copy of Linux and install all the build requirements in it.

Mike,

wasn't there also an issue with QT versions differing on the linux versions? either QT that ships with ubuntu 16.04 LTS was older or newer than what the download file expects... i remember having to compile my own to get it to run on Linux.

one last note... I am compiling this with the latest QT for mac os, running on a mac mini with mac os X 10.9.5... there should be zero issues running that against all current versions of mac os x... anything prior to 10.7 will need a different binary... i do have a 10.6.8 mac with QT 4.x on it... i will compile a version of 422 there if anyone needs a copy.

Mike,

built 422 for linux on ubuntu 16.04 64 bit with QT 5... had to make one single change to get it to compile:

line 9 of "modeledit.cpp"

#include "loggingdialg.h" ---> #include "loggingDialog.h"

it appears that both Mac OS and Windows being case insensitive file systems, they didn't care about the lower case D, but linux does.

I have just downloaded the official release of ersky9x R221 for the 9XR Pro & flashed it to my radio. When I display the version it shows:
VERS: ersky9x-r221
DATE: 19:02:2018
TIME: 10:33:12
MOD: REVB-X

Why is the date 19 Feb?? Was the Windows binary created a little earlier than the Mac and Linux binaries?

I built ersky9x then, but I had to wait for eepskye to be built for the MAC before I could do the release of both ersky9x and eepskye together.

Congratulations on the gold release!

Whenever my team released a new product or major version, I would take the entire team out for dinner. So, I would hope the R&D director would do the same for the ersky team ;)

Could you post the resulting, 64-bit build please, or send it to me via a PM?
It seems it may be more popular than the 32-bit version.

Minor issues found in R221.
There is no help topic for "EEPROM". Radio Setup/EEPROM page shows "Disabled (see Help)"
Page name inconsistent with menu item - Menu "Radio Setup", page title "Radio SETUP".
