Ersky9x Bug Reporting

erskyTx runs on many radios and upgrade boards
ersky9x was a port of er9x for use on the sky9x board.

Ok, d6 flashed.
"Problem number 1" that I reported above is still happening. If I move the sticks just after turning ON to bypass the splash screen, the model name plays normally, but then the radio plays the voice files associated to !THR..

Is the STM module internal or external? Which COM port is it using to send the telemetry data?

It is internal, and is on COM 2

Thanks

Mike, found a little bug on d6. The encoder works correctly on the popups but jumps two lines while scrolling the index menu and the edit menus..
I have some more logs for you.. I am sorting them now and will post them shortly..
Again, funny that when raw logging, I don't hear any false alarms.. :o

Thanks

Here it is.. Please note the normal log from "Skipper" The telemetry lost at the beginning is normal as it is due to swamping.. But then, at the end of the flight was caused by something else.. Funny that this always starts happening well into the flight..

I'll fix the encoder problem, it's related to adding the "Basic" scripts. I fixed it for LUA so just a minor mod to fix it for "Basic".
I think all my testing has been done using COM1, and the interrupt for that is a higher priority than the interrupt for COM2, so I'll bring COM2 priority up to the same level as COM1.

Thanks Mike. Really looking forward to test this one, believe me :D it is really annoying when the false alarms start. I have to land just to make sure all is ok. We never know.
I hope that change will fix it. Thanks once again..

Mike, d7 on 9XT. Had a good teaching session today. Was teaching my Son and the Son from a club friend.
I's sorry to say, that the low cell problem is still there..
First flight was uneventful. Second flight had a low cell alarm with a value displayed on cell8.
Third flight, all hell broke loose with more than 7 volts on cell7 :( :o
The latest 2 flights were logged raw. This time I had the alarms while raw logging, so you might be able to see something You couldn't see before..
This is a really weird problem.. I hope these logs help you finding the problem

Thanks for your patience.

Ahh, forgot to say that at some point another club member arrived with a Taranis. Whether he had his radio ON all the time while I was flying or not, I don't know..
Again, my 9XT has a STM32 multi module installed internally with telemetry on COM 2.

Thanks

I can see bytes missing in places in the raw log. They seem to be occuring in batches, rather than just a single byte being missing. Sometimes 1 byte, sometimes 2 bytes are missing.
What is really interesting is the missing bytes only occur in "user data" frames, not in "link" frames (RSSI, A1 etc.) or status frames (the multi firmware revision etc.).

In one area, I notice that several user data frames (that should start 7E FD) are missing these first two bytes, but these frames are in between other frames, both link frames (starting 7E FE) and other user data frames, that are OK. This doesn't seem to be "random" bytes being missed.

This does lead me to wonder if the multi module is not sending them, rather than ersky9x losing them. I recall fixing a problem in the AVR multi module with the telemetry data, maybe there is another one.

User data (hub telemetry) is sent over the air in packets of up to 10 bytes. These need to be forwarded, typically in two user data frames, one with 6 bytes in it and the other with 4 bytes. It looks like when the problem occured, the frames with 6 bytes in them were missing the 7E FD at the start.

Thanks for the explanation Mike. But how do you explain that with c8 everything seems to work ok? It is the same multi module, with the same firmware installed.. This is what I don't understand.. Maybe I will have to install c8 again and try to make it fail?
Actually c8 apparently doesn't have any of the problems I have been reporting lately.. :o
Even the voice problem at power ON..

Thank you

Hi guys!

I ran into a small problem with latest stable version of 9XR-PRO firmware. I'm guessing latest beta has it, too.

Every time my logical switch resets the timer (using RSSI as indicator: < 1 when quad is disconnected), I lose all voice announcements until the TX is restarted. Sometimes in the middle of the flight, too. Even the menu beeps are gone.

9XR PRO with DJT module and D4R receiver.

Logical switch (L8): v<val RSSI 1 !ELE
Timer 1 (THs count up): Reset switch L8

I just did a test with a QX7, latest test version firmware, internal XJT and a X8R with your settings and that worked OK.
I'll repeat the test with a 'PRO, DJT and D8R-II next (I don't have a D4R).
When you lose voice, please check in the Statistics STAT2 menu and see if you have a non-zero value for "Voice Underruns".

I've repeated the test on a 'PRO, DJT and D8R-II, and all is still OK. Every time I switch the Rx off, the timer goes to 0 and I get the "Telemetry Lost" message spoken.
I'll need to inspect the code to try to find where things may get "stuck" after a voice underrun.

Voice underruns 1! - on stable release.

After disconnecting the quad, telemetry lost voice announcement stops mid sentence.

Additionally, radio shuts down 3x longer.

It seems to be related to telemetry itself. If I never turn on the quad and reset timer, all is good.

Latest beta - I've managed to invoke the problem only 1 time. Since then, I've modded the telemetry screen and the problem went away.

New problem FasV - shows 0.0V while Ctot shows correct voltage.

On stable release - both ctot and fasv show the same voltage.

Please check the following:
1. On the SD CARD STAT screen (UP LONG, then LEFT a few times), what is the number on the second line at the right side (32 I hope).
2. Check in Telemetry|Blocking that FasV is NOT ticked.
3. Look in Telemetry|Logging. Beside FasV, as well as the box that may contain a tick to enable it to be logged, is there another tick at the right side of the screen (indicates FasV data is being received).
4. See here for how to enable "Raw Logging": viewtopic.php?f=7&t=40&p=123508&hilit=r ... ng#p123508.
Note that the raw logging setting is NOT saved when you power the Tx off.
In the logging setup, enable "New File".
Connect everything up, then enable and run raw logging for 10 seconds, then stop it.
Power all off, then access the SD card and find the log file in the "LOGS" directory, put this in a .zip file and post it here for me to look at.

1. 32 - yes
2. NOT ticked
3. FasV is ticked but no check mark beside it - not receiving
4. file attached

Thanks for looking into this :)

Damn, I think that's it. 4 tests, 4 good results. Maybe the card that comes with the 9XR Pro got corrupted, I'll try formatting it.
How on earth did you think of that? :)

How? ;) I use Er9x and Ersky9x since the very beginning, and also long before voice started being supported. Most of the problems with audio and voice happened to me also for sure :)

I hope this is the correct place to report this.
Using the eePskyee editor.. when using the mixer tab, I add notes to channels but they are not saved. After saving the file and closing the program, then reopening the program and file, the notes are gone. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong? :?:
Also I am getting older and forgetful, It would be nice to have a label displayed with each channel so I see at a glance what each channel does. If we could edit the "(note)" label with words of our choosing that would be nice..
Thanks and I love this program!

You may save the "EEPROM" in two formats, .bin and .eepe. A .bin file is a direct copy of the EEPROM on the radio, and doesn't have anywhere to store the mixer notes. A .eepe file is actually a XML file and does store the notes.

I've found a small bug with the contrast of the screen, at random usually after editing a mix or other setting the contrast jumps to a level similar to about 28 on the settings screen but still displaying 40. I go into settings and move the contrast setting 1 click and it returns to normal I have mine set at 40 usually. A radio reboot also cures the issue.

What I have noticed several times (just didn't pay much attention to it), is that the backlight color sometimes changes a bit while doing something.. I have the color set to yellow/orange. Sometimes it turns more like green..
Could it be related?

Defiantly possible I don't have that much technical knowledge I have mine set 100% blue 0% green & red on mine the display fades so the text is almost invisible but one click on the contrast setting cures it.
