Ordering parts for dsm mod

Post by DudeInMyrtleBeach »

Hello! I'm in the process of ordering parts from digikey for my DSM mod. I'll be installing a module from a DX5. I've read so much on this topic in the last 2 weeks, that I'm in information overload..

I'll be installing the module inside the 9x itself - not in an external module.

I have a couple of the Turnigy 3.3v BEC's. I've read that I also need a capacitor, a diode and a 4.7k resistor. For the cap, I read one place that I should use a 220uf 6v but I've also read that it should be 10uf 16v. In yet another post, the guy didn't use a cap at all... What do I need to do here? For the diode, I'm pretty sure that any small 50v or so diode will work. Is this correct?

Any advice is appreciated... Thank you!

The cap is not needed with an UBEC, only if you reuse the analog reg.
Yep any small signal diode is okay.

Not sure of you looked at this Wiki as it's a little buried:

The Wiki was created using Kilrah's method.
