Screen went black

I have the DHT 8 diy module in my th8x. I did the upgrade 3 years ago. My radio has been working flawlessly. I got back from flying this morning and everything was fine. I made some adjustments on a plane , went to test it in my street and my screen went black. Well not totally black, just all the letters are all solid mixed together. I still have a boarder, but you can't make out the letters. I've checked all the connections. I re flashed the firmware, and nothing works.

Anyone have any ideas?

First step is probably to use eepe to read the EEPROM and check the contrast setting, you want a value around 25.
