Flight MODES for trims. All four trims may be set differently in any given flight MODE, or individually they may stay as the trim from any other flight mode.
Flight MODE 0 is the 'original' trims setting. Other flight MODES are enabled by the associated switch.

The latest eepe supports these also, have a play there.

Hello Mike, I was digging around and looking for updated ER9x manual that explains the new stuff to me at least on Safety Switches for Type (S/A/V/X) if it set to Channel and (ON/OFF/BOTH/15Sec/30Sec/60Sec/Variabl).
The ladder is self explanatory but the former is not.

Is there anything written up?
I am using er9x-r810 for M128

Thanks in advance, trying to get my Mode Switch setup... My earlier instructions post don't work apparently.

This is the text I've recently added to the manual, but not yet released:

"Safety switch entries that are not required for the safety function may be used to control voice output if the voice modification has been carried out.

Each SAFETY switch has a type field, by default it is 'S' for safety.
Other options are 'A' for Audio and 'V' for Voice and 'X' for sticky safety.

If you set it to 'A', then you may select a switch and an audio sample. When the switch turns ON, the audio sample is played. While the switch remains ON, the audio sample is repeated every 4 seconds.

If you set it to 'V', then you may select a switch and a voice file (by number). When the switch turns ON, the voice file is played. While the switch remains ON, the voice file is repeated every 4 seconds.

Sticky throttle works as follows:
While the switch is active, throttle is disabled.
When the switch goes inactive, the throttle remains disabled until the throttle stick is brought below around -98%. "

Hello Mike, thanks for the explaination, I saw a post of you making updates to the code text on code.google.com.... but I didn't find that... cheers...

So brings me to my second question then...
what if I want to play once like before?
Switch is ON, mode set to Autopilot.. say the voice file for 'AutoPilot' once and thats it until the switch is moved to another position... like Stabilize?

Thoughts?

When I first implemented voice for the 9X, I added these voice (and Audio) options. Then I added the option to change safety switches into voice switches, I see you have 11 of these set.
Your requirement is met by using one of these set for ON. When the switch turns ON, the voice message is played once.
If you have a '128 or '2561 processor, you get an extra 8 voice switches.

Hello Mike, I am not going to pretend that I understand what you are saying...
Apologies for being thick. ;-)

This is not the way I remembered it and that is expected in my old age...
In this post for OpenTx that you helped me out a long time ago...

viewtopic.php?f=45&t=4556&p=68411#p64187

Granted it was for OpenTx but the concepts where the same.
Now that I am fully in ER9x now as per the Gimbal Mods I find it a bit confusing the configuration of these new options.

I am seeing some interesting things... not sure if this is expected...
Screenshot 2014-03-09 15.30.36.jpg
and in the Radio Screen...
photo.JPG
p.s. Everytime i upload a eepe/config it wipes out the settings for the gimbals, they get erased.

Re: ER9X User Guide

So I have played with it for a while now.. and I think I am not able to do what I was able to do with OpenTx?
If !SW1 is enabled I require it to say AutoPilot
If SW2 is enabled then, Return to Home
If SW3 is enabled then, Loiter
If SW5 is enabled then, Alt Hold
If !SW4 is enabled then, Stabilize

If I use ON then I am not able to engage the NOT Switches. So Autopilot/Stabilize are not attainable as in OpenTx via the same method.
That being said, I am all ears on the method to achieve this... I think the Telemetry options in ER9x are very cool and can't wait to find a use case to leverage them.

Also, is there a way to input Txt(labels) for Modes? I was able to display on the Screen the Mode that I was one for visual purposes. It seems all you can do is select a Switch.

If this is the way to configure the Switches, how can you sound off the Switches enabled from CSwitch 1 thru 5 not repeated every 4 seconds?

Hope this makes sense? ;-)

Perhaps a checkbox for 'No Repeat' would be great beside the Value Selected? (wasn't that there once?)

What revision of eepe are you using? I added the support for the gimbal reverse in r392. I just tested it and it seemd to work OK.

There does seem to be a display problem when 'V' is selected on a safety switch.

Regarding not being able to select !SW1 with ON, this needs a little logical thought. !Sw1 turning ON is the same as SW1 turning OFF.
So use an ordinary voice switch but use SW1 and OFF instead of !SW1 and ON.

I didn't add labels for the modes in er9x due to the amount of EEPROM and RAM they would take up. Unlike openTx on the stock board, you don't select features you want and not have others. Er9x has all its features and the EEPROM basically stays the same. I could consdier adding mode labels. A model with mode labels would then take up more EEPROM, so you may not be able to store 16 models.

I've just added the following text to the description of safety switches for the 'V' option:
"At the end of the switch choice there are 3 extra options, 8 seconds, 12 seconds and 16 seconds. For each of these, instead of a voice file, you may choose a telemetry item to be spoken at the period selected."

I have the fix for the switch name not displaying in the 'V' option.

HI Mike,
I am on r393.
I will try the OFF, the logic is not so logical for some times... ;-)
Thanks for clarifying.

Oh, regarding 16 models... I am not too concerned about that... 6 or so models is enough for me. ;-)

Some more interesting findings...
So, if I set VS18 to VS24 and not the ones above... they don't take in the upload of the conf.
Screenshot 2014-03-09 16.32.46.jpg
Strange? They are apart of the file but not put into the radio...
The reason I did this is in case I wanted to change the number of VS's in the future and don't lose my configuation as it takes away from the top first.

And I don't see where you set the switch reversal on the Configurator of EEPE?
The settings get changed back to blank every upload, along with volume and a few other things... Even if I configure on the radio and download.

Switch reversal or gimbal (stick) reversal?
Stick reversal is at the bottom of GENERAL edit, 4 check boxes.

Holy Mackinaw, I had no idea you can double click on General Settings on top where the Model Name is.... ;-)
Embarrasing..
Well to that point... I set everything there and it mostly works but when I click on LH and RH, the don't take in upload or reopening of the UI for General Settings.

Sorry to keep finding bugs. ;-)

p.s. I was referring to the Stick (Gimbal)

There does appear to be a problem with the stick reversal settings. I just checked on the version I'm running as well (r395 provisional). It is better, but not quite right.

Don't worry about finding bugs, I can't test everything!

I've found the bug, and hopefully fixed it. I've posted a test version of eepe (for windows) here:viewtopic.php?f=5&t=4598&p=64969#p64969. The zip only has the .exe in it, just copy this into your eepe directory (after saving the existing .exe, just "in case").

As well as the stick reversal fix, this version has windows that are wider and shorter. Hopefully this will display better.

Okay Mike, I have ER9x right where I want it. All configured for my ArduCopter.
I have one request and hopefully you have a out of the box thinking answer as always. ;-)
If I want to enable a VS after a holding of Throttle and Rudder to bottom right and bottom left. I have it all configured to speak and Arm/DisArm my APM accordingly.
The problem is that in OpenTx I can add a delay on that action that if I hold for 3 Seconds then trigger the switch.
Is there a way to trigger a delay on (Rudder -100/Throttle -100) (3 Sec) and (Rudder 100/Throttle -100) (3 Sec)
That way the second I hit either position the Switch doesn't kick off until I hold there for 3 Seconds just like i would to Arm and DisArm.

I think you could if you added more time options to the voice switches. Currently we have 15, 30, and 60 seconds I think. Maybe adding 5 and 10 seconds. Then you could get rid of the "V" on safety switches.
There's no point in havng both the voice sw and the voice on safety sw when all could be done with just the voice sw. Confusing and not necessary in my opinion. Also, on the voice sw we are able to choose diferent time settings.

For delays like that, I usually use an output channel like:
CH16 +100% FULL Switch(SW5) SLOW(U3:d0)
then another custom switch:
CS6: v>ofs CH16 +98%

CS5 is the one you want a delay on, then you use CS6 instead.

Morning Mike, great stuff and many thanks!
I knew there was a way, I am learning new things every day.
I am glad to say that everything I had working in my Taranis/T9x configuration of OpenTx is now working in ER9x.

I have my Teensys Board coming this week so I can finally get to play with SmartPort and get all the APM values displaying to my T9x via my XJT and X8R.
