So I have finished the mod... I should be okay with er9x and FrSky enabled as it always has... the TeZ has the wires to connect to the Pin5... Should be just the Rx wire. Or the other.. either way, one of them should work.

No chance in frying anything right?

;-)

I haven't turned on the radio yet.

Hi LTMNO, I'm not sure, but inverter must be between RX and autopilot.

Hi Leesicin, maybe I am not understanding your post... the Inverter is inside the OrangeRx Transmitter Module right? Do you mean when you connect the APM to the OrangeRx Receiver?

Image

From my understanding... I will be bridging the Ch7+Ch8 to get PPM on Ch5.

And I am using a Orange Rx and Tx... not 2x Tx's

This is different from mine as I have the newer APM and will be using Telem Port.
Image

and then I just take data transmission from the APM and send it to the UART Rx/Tx on the Receiver to send over to the Radio Transmitter... then the Radio will convert the signal based on the inverter build inside and send it to the internals of the Radio on the Tx Line to my TeZ board.

Does this make sense?

Hello, thanks for the reply... it appears that I have Telemetry working... that is great.. not with the APM though. I have to download a customer FW to the Tx to make this happen. I am going to give it a go and see what happens.

All documented here... thanks for FlipFlap.

Just spent a little time trying to save some flash on the M64-FrSky version. I found a few small things that saved a few bytes, then I noticed the "Alarm Warning" option. All this does is provide an option to enable an alarm at power on if the beeper is set to NONE. Since the voice output doesn't look at the beeper setting, I intend to remove the option to have an alarm warning.
A second option I noticed is turning on flashing into reverse video of the timer and the battery voltage. It seems to me that the flashing might as well always take place, rather than having an option to enable it.
Removing these two options saves over 120 bytes of flash.

I've just noticed that the beeper setting also controls whether audio sounds (chirp, siren etc.) are played. I think this is also unnecessary. If you set such a sound in a voice alarm, I think it should always sound, not be overridden by a beeper setting.

I'm also looking for any other minor features that don't really add anything much useful.

Did I miss the discussion of the new model name font in the latest pre-r819 test version?
I understand this was done to save some space on the screen, right? Or does it also allow to save some memory?

There is an option to disable the splash screen, and moving any stick or pressing a button cancels the splash screen.

It saves both screen space and flash space. The original font is 10x14 and uses 20 bytes per character. The new font is 7x12 and uses 14 bytes per character. Since we have 52 letters, 10 digits and some other symbols (- : etc.) we save over 300 bytes of flash.

And the new font look better in my opinion. :)
With the old one, letters like p, q, and g display completely wrong.
Looking forward to see it in ersky9x ;)

I have just released er9x revision 819. The source files are in the master Github branch, tagged as er9x-r819.
The .hex files are on www.er9x.com, and eepe should pick up there is a new release.
The hex files are the same as the ones in "er9x-r819Prov.zip", I have done no changes, just the data on the version screen may have changed.

There may be further releases of er9x like this, but my current plan is to got to er9xV2, where the EEPROM is re-structured to make the code better and smaller, thus allowing everything to work better.
If anyone wants to start testing er9xV2, and has a Tx spare, I'll start publishing test versions. I'd advise careful testing before flying with it. I have a start to eepeV2 to go with er9xV2, but this is not really tested yet.

I still have an m2561 radio and a couple 9x boards. I won't fly with this radio at the moment. One of the reasons is the fantastic weather we have here now, not :(
So if you don't mind releasing test versions, I would like to help testing..

Thank you

Mike:
I am running this on my m64 with telemetry mod and wheel encoder Tx, no voice:
vers: V1.702-Mike
Date: 06.11.2015
SVN: er9x-r819
MOD: FRSKY NT
this is the same as the new released r819 right?
I can use this Tx to test the er9xV2.
My flying tx is the sky board.

I will also soon have a M128 board freed up when the AR9X is here and swap out my 'original' T9x which still runs the stock FW V2 on a m64 :). (that Tx has 5 of my 450 heli set up with stock FW that I don't have time to switch to ersky9x Tx yet.) So I can test the er9x V2 on a virgin m128 board without mod too (I can put my SP v2.1 in there).

An off topic question. Has the ersky9x with latest multiprotocol released yet?

All the most recent test version of ersky9x have the MULTI protocol in them with the latest updates.

I'll look to posting a V2 test version then, thanks all.

Is setting FrSky DJT's internal alarms still possible in er9x r819?
I just modded a radio with a DJT module in it. But in the Telemetry settings screen the alarm thresholds are set to 0 and the new values are not being stored after power cycle. Most obvious is that something is wrong with the mod I did, of course. But I thought I would ask, just in case...

P.S. This is on er9x-frsky-sv.hex

I think I've removed them from V2. What does exist however is the ability for eepe to connect to the DJT using the serial connections on the back of the DJT, and using the Telemetry option in eepe, on the module tab, you may read and set the DJT alarms from there.

In fact, I only use that option to quickly make sure telemetry mod is applied correctly. This way, no receiver is needed for the test. If the radio can read and set the alarm thresholds - then telemetry should work. Otherwise, something is wrong. :)

If I get it right, in the "V2 way" the radio won't transmit any data to the DJT at all. So modding should become a little easier, although testing the mod will require a receiver. Not an issue, just something to keep in mind.

Thanks a lot, Mike!

Hi Mike, got my new radio up and running.. kinda.

Using er9x-128_r819.hex
First Boot
- CHECK MIX/DR SOURCES
- CHECK MODEL TIMERS
- SWITCH WARNINGS (THR, AIL)
- Alarms Disabled
- Backlight stays on, not set...
- Long left press on + gets me the menu.. but I can't navigate the menu.

I retry the General Settings via PC and then upload the eeprom...
I disabled Megasound Serial this time...
The minute i plug in AVR.. i hear tick, tick, tick on the spkr...

Second Boot
- CHECK MIX/DR SOURCES
- CHECK MODEL TIMERS
- SWITCH WARNINGS (THR, AIL)
- Alarms Disabled
- Backlight stays on, not set...
- Long left press on + gets me the menu.. but I can't navigate the menu.

I retry the General Settings via PC and then upload the eeprom...
I disabled Stick Scroll and enable FrSky Mod done (M128 only) this time...
The minute i plug in AVR.. i hear tick, tick, tick on the spkr...

Image

Third Boot
- CHECK MIX/DR SOURCES
- CHECK MODEL TIMERS
- SWITCH WARNINGS (THR)
- Backlight stays on, not set...
- Long left press on + gets me the menu.. navigation works now...

Seems like I have a THR problem. The THR trim works..
The Haptic works as it kicks in when i move the trims and back to center they go off again.
I have a reverse Roll Stick... but I have a dead Throttle Stick the ANA for A2 is 100% Not sure if that is right?
RUD is A1
Seems THR is A2
ELE A3
AIL A4

p.s. I hear no sound...I do have the stock sounds on the board...

EDIT:
Fixed the THR Stick Problem...
Fixed the ROLL Stick Problem...
I am trying to route the Trim Wires now.. see what happens.

I am not sure if er9x.com is posted the right eepe installer.
After install it wants to download r18.

I downloaded the : http://www.er9x.com/eePeInstall.exe

Then, during the Serial SD Update..
I can read the models, I can save a model, I can send a model.
(EDIT: I had to backup the models to the SD Card to see them in the Serial Update Application) RTFM... I get it...

Here is the Send Error on 0000.wav

Image

Image

Thoughts?

Still the transfer error. Could the diode being backwards be the problem to that error.. or it wouldn't connect at all.
I bypassed it.. and that just killed the communication, it won't connect without it.

I recall someone else having a problem with the first/only file. Can you try sending two files?
If you can send/receive models, then the connection is fine.

When you try to upload voice files, can you try the following?:
Select several fles to upload.
When you get the error, click ok.
Could be it then uploads all the following files

That's, at least, is what happens to me.

Mike, regarding the Diode... I can't remember why we put it in there.. but I do remember we did for a reason. Do you recall?
If I remove or bypass it, nothing works.. so its doing something.

Here is the diode in ArduVoice... not the same...
Image

Maybe its to do with the FTDI Adapter?
I read something in the ArduVoice Write-up on D3.
