Throttle not idle warning
Throttle not idle warning
Hi,
Today i download with epee a new version (r644) of er9x. I do the stick calibration and every time i switch the tx on, i become the throttle warning. In the menu the throttle reverse is off. I must put the stick at top and then the warning disapear.
With "old" version of er9x i don't have the warning. What can i do?
Thanks
Kayle

Throttle not idle warning
On the setup page is an option to warn if the throttle is not idle.
Any chance you have switched it on?

Hey rob,
on the setup page the warning is active. That's correct. I like to be warned if the throttle stick is not idle, but at the moment the warning comes also the stick is in correct lower position.
Warning comes if the stick is full up and full down.

Re: Throttle not idle warning
Has the stick calibration not worked? Press the LEFT button LONG to get to the SETUP screen, then go LEFT twice to get to the ANA screen. When you move the throttle stick, the number next to the A2 label should go from -100 to +100. If it does not get to -100, then the throttle is not actually getting to the 'off' position.Kayle wrote:I do the stick calibration and every time i switch the tx on, i become the throttle warning. Re: Throttle not idle warning
I had a problem like this after I changed the spring tension on the sticks. I like the springs strong so maxed out the tension screws. After maxing out the rudder tension I got the throttle not idle warning. I backed off the tension screw on the rudder until the warning cut out.

Hi,
in the ANA Screen i get for Throttle Stick down ( backyard to me ) +100 and for Throttle Stick up ( forward from me ) -100. When i look at ELE Stick it is other way around:
Throttle up = -100
ELE up = +100
Throttle Down = +100
ELE Down = 100
When i put both Sticks down i get two differnt value´s. Is this correct ?

Re: Throttle not idle warning
You might have your throttle reversed?
If not in the software, maybe in the hardware? the pot connected reversed?
Please go to the main settings menu in your tx and check if you don't have the "reverse throttle operation" activated..

I also confronted this error!
Just a normal program ER9x occurs, the FrSky version is not !
This error has the last two versions as well!

Re: Throttle not idle warning
Since r635, I think only telemetry related changes have been done. If this is a problem only in the recent standard versions, then stick to r635. I'll try to look into this, but my tx is modified for the FrSky versionn so it may be difficult.

Hi,
I have four 9x. Two normal and two with frsky telemetry. With frsky telemetry everything works. The normal one have these warnings. Throttle revers is not active.

Re: Throttle not idle warning
Very confusing, I just built and loaded the standard version er9x on my tx, all works fine. I'm mode 2, throttle on left stick, where is your throttle?

Hi,
Throttle is on left stick. When you put your stick up, what value did you get in ana screen a2?

Re: Throttle not idle warning
-100 when stick is down to +100 when stick is up, same as ELE stick. If you select throttle reversed does it correct the throttle to normal? And if not, does it become correct if you then select throttle not reversed. You may have tried this already.
There may be a curious problem in the EEPROM, where a bit that was used (or not used) in an old revision of software is now changed or used, and this is causing this problem.
You could try:
Read the EEPROM from a tx with the problem, and store it safely.
Read the EEPROM from a FrSky enabled version and put that in the standard tx, then check the throttle operation. (This is effectivly what I have done to test it).
Put your original EEPROM image back.
If you still have the problem, post your EEPROM here, then I can try it.

Re: Throttle not idle warning
Interesting! I'm trying to pin this down, does the warning go away when you move the throttle stick to full? if not, as a test when you have the throttle warning displayed please move the ELEVATOR stick to full UP and DOWN. I'm wondering if the startup thinks the throttle is on that stick.
I haven't yet managed to duplicate the problem so it makes it difficult to locate.

On my 9x the Mode is already set to "Mode 2" and the problem is already here.

Re: Throttle not idle warning
now i think i found the problem:
when i do the calibration -> after setting Midpoint i set maximum of all sticks. When i put the throttle Stick up -> the "point" on the display goes DOWN
I don´t reverse something on the hardware. I clear eeprom and flash and put the r444 Version on my tx. Same problem. It´s crazy .... ???

hey rob, you did it
before calibration i set the "Throttle Reverse" to ON and then i do the calibration. Now it works. But on my frsky version i don´t need to reverse the throttle.

Re: Throttle not idle warning
Hi,
open your TX an measure the voltage on the Pots. You must get ~ 0-5V when you moving your Sticks.

Re: Throttle not idle warning
It is connected physically, but maybe there is some component burnt out. But what can I check?
Re: Throttle not idle warning
You will need to follow the wire back to the main board. Keep testing at every point you can. It can be as simple as a bent pin in one of the connectors, or a bad solder joint.
