er9x on Arduino?

Post by ozzie »

This is probably a crazy thought, but I'll let you guys tell me how crazy. I have a Turnigy 9XR-Pro with ersky9x on it, and it works well, but I want to have something for a spare radio. I also have a Cheerson CX-20 stock radio, an Arduino Nano* (Atmega 328), and enough electronics knowledge to connect the Arduino to the radio gimbals, switches, etc, and probably the onboard eeprom as well. I can also buy an SPI LCD, some buttons for up/down/left/right/menu/exit, a 3-in-1 transmitter module to add to the A7105 already in the tx, and I think I can hook all that up as well. The real question is, if I do all that, how hard would it be to put er9x on it to make it work like a full fledged transmitter?

* I realize more IO would probably be a good idea, but I think the Nano has just exactly enough to work.

Er9x is a struggle to fit into a Mega64, so I doubt you will get anything much working on a '328 with only 32K of flash.

The difficult we do immediately,
The impossible takes a little longer!

I didn't realize that the 64 had more flash than the 328, looks like it also has more ram.

That looks like exactly what I would have been looking for, if I thought that anyone made it! It's perfect!
