r816 throttle alarm setting cannot be saved
r816 throttle alarm setting cannot be saved
Hi
Upgraded to 816 some time ago, seems that I can't save throttle alarm setting. If I switch it off, it will be back on on next boot. Does it need to saved somehow..?
edit: I have 9X, no telemetry mods

Re: r816 throttle alarm setting cannot be saved
I've seen another report of some setup values not saving in r816. I'm not sure why they don't save.
This other user flashed the test version (called test but quite stable) from 5-Feb-2015 from this post: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=4598#p64969, and the problem was fixed.

Question.. Did you change the setting and turned the radio immediately OFF? You need to give time for the setting to be saved to the eeprom.. A few seconds before you turn the tx off..

Re: r816 throttle alarm setting cannot be saved
There is a flashing line in the top left corner of the display if an EEPROM write is pending. Certainly wait until this disappears before switching off.

Not immediately, actually turned tr off only after flight. I did check also that alarm was turned off before turning off tr.
Flashed 24-Feb-2015 version, now it works.
Don't know if this tells anything, but I stored settings before flash (alarm showed as on), after tr formatted eeprom I uploaded saved to tr. Alarm was off.

Have you set your fuses to protect the EEPROM? If you do, then the EEPROM is not erased when you flash the firmware.

Re: r816 throttle alarm setting cannot be saved
Sorry I wasn't too clear. Stored, meant saved to computer. And I wrote those back to transmitter after it erased eeprom. I haven't set any fuses. So it seemed that "off" setting was actually stored correctly, but 816 firmware didn't for some reason handle it correctly?
Anyway, working fine now.

Re: r816 throttle alarm setting cannot be saved
I was also not clear. I'm just mentioning that there is a fuse you can set to prevent erasing the EEPROM when you flash new firmware. It saves needing to backup the EEPROM and restore it when you flash the firmware. Nothing specific to do with your problem!

Re: r816 throttle alarm setting cannot be saved
Dears,
I tried to find here some thing near to this issue without success...
I have M64 processor and I am using r816 fw now! I would like to reporting a strange issue that I found in my tx! When you start a new model and go to "voice" the last position in my case VA9 have a different value of 0/off!
When you reset this position to 0 /off and go back to the main page, I detect that modification changes together the stick calibration too! Please could some one double check if this is true?

Re: r816 throttle alarm setting cannot be saved
That is a bug, there shouldn't be a VA9, only VA1 to VA8. I have fixed this in test versions.
I'm trying to release r817 very soon.
For now, just do NOT use VA9, don't even edit it.

I've just posted what I hope will be r817 on the test version thread, see: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=4598.
