Exceeding 100% in the mixer

openTx has introduced a range of new features, ideas and bling. It is fast becoming the firmware of choice for many users. openTx will run on ALL current hardware platforms, including the gruvin9x and sky9x boards. Work has already started to support the new FrSky X9D radio!

Exceeding 100% in the mixer

Post by rcyoda »

On a channel I want to have values -100, 0, +100 assigned to SA, which is then increased by 10 with momentary switch SH if needed (so with SH activated it would become -90, +10, +110 respectively). Sounds easy, but the problem is - AFAIK and confirmed in Companion - that the mixer is cutting out everything greater than 100% and lower than -100%.

One workaround is to use special functions. Another is to increase the range on outputs page, and re-scale the values accordingly in the mixer. Both works, but neither one is an elegant solution.

Is there any way to make the mixer working with values beyond -100% and +100% ?

Reverse the logic, instead of having 100% as normal and extending to 110 you set normal to be 90 and extend to 100.

This is more or less what I’m doing by setting up higher output ranges. Just it require some recalculations / rescaling.

Would be great to have an option like “no limits in mixer” or “extended limits is mixer”. Just a suggestion though.
