OpenTX2.2 missing switches taranis QX7

Post by archer183 »

I am really confused. I just bought a QX7 and was playing around with opentx firmware and I noticed something problematic. there are 6 switches on the QX7 but only 5 of them show up in companion. the trainer switch is missing. This is particularly problematic as I was going to set this tx up specifically for training in addition to other models.

any ideas what could be wrong and how to get it back? on my 9x it is just a switch like any other, am I missing something different here?

Do you mean the momentary switch? The one that returns to it's position when released?
Check the hardware configuration.

That is switch H, there is no dedicated switch names like 'Trainer Switch', it is just a momentary switch that you can setup how ever you want, trainer is a posibility but not a given.

interesting. I had not realized that you could turn off / change switch functionality with the taranis x7 (nor that the default settings were missing a switch). thanks!

If you are running firmware that came with the Tx from FrSky, no one knows, but FrSky, what they send for firmware.
Up grade to a release sanctioned by the development team.

You could try something clever like using movement on the aileron/elevator joystick to release the trainer mode. Works a treat and saves having to hold the momentary switch down all the time.

And what might that look like? / how might one do that?
