Logical Switch Configuration for Ignition

Post by wineguy »

I am trying to configure a couple of switches to turn on and off the ignition on my P47. What I would like to do is use SC and the momentary SH switch to do this. I want to hold SH on and move SC from it's center position up to turn on ch.5 and have it stay on when letting go of SH. Then holding SH again and moving SC from center to the down position to turn ch.5 off and have it stay off after releasing SH.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Steve

If you look at the documentation topic above this one, in the "How to" section there is a kill switch option which provides the sort of foolproof switching option I think you are looking for, however it uses just switch H, which must be activated/deactivated within a set timescale to work.

Just a thought.

Maybe an easier question would be how would you set up the momentary switch to latch ch.5 to 100%.
I would use it in conjunction with SC.
"SC up" and SH would latch ch.5 100% "SC Dn" and SH would unlatch ch.5.

I got it!
L1:AND L4 SC↑ AND SH↓
L2:AND SC↓ SH↓
L3:STICKY L1 L2
L4:a<x L3 0
I'm using L3 to turn on and off ch.5. When SC is up and SH is down it latches in L3. When SC is down and SH is down it unlatches L3.

Try this, no guarantees

Logical Switches:
L1 AND SC↑ SH↓
L2 AND SC↓ SH↓
L3 Sticky L1 L2

Mixer:
CH05 Name Ign
Source L3
Weight 100
No Trim
Don't assign a switch

Edit: See you got it on your own while I was typing. Great.

Thanks Jim, that works also! And less convoluted than mine.
Sometimes I have a tendency to over think things.
Appreciate the reply. I'll feel much better flying this plane knowing I'm not going to accidentally kill the ignition in flight.
Thanks again.

Look at the topic two above this one. Documentation for OpenTX, then scroll down the first post.

This is the configuration I ended up with for the ignition.
Not real important but it keeps you from turning the ignition off after it's already off. Basically it's just so you don't hear the voice again telling you the ignition is off (or on) if you happen to activate the sequence more than once.
Also there is an LED in the cockpit for ignition status.
