Needed, 9X battery pack cover.

Post by ShowMaster »

I guess I lost my battery cover at one of the club presentations. I usuall open a 9X case and pass it around, or several to show in real time the mods required to upgrade the 9X and the Life Battery. Same with the Sky board install. I guuess one cover didn't return or got left behind, rats!
So does anyone have a spare battery cover?
I have $, new LDC displays, new HK USBasp programmers, HK white BL's, stock 9X RX's and FkySky modules with antenna mounted, new stock 9X CPU boards, and working Frsky 6 CH Tel RX's ( early versions so the dividers may be differant but all work).
I don't want to purchase a new 9X just to rob the cover because I'll just have more parts to store. I just want the cover.
So lets make a deal.

Any chance you have an old 6-8 channel JR or DX6 Spektrum transmitter you can steal the cover from? Like this JR example:
http://www.horizonhobby.com/products/ba ... el-JRPA620

I find that the JR battery cover fits perfectly, but it does not lock tightly in place. The Spektrum cover fits/locks good, but the plastic color is gray rather than black. These issues are not show stoppers. So if you cannot find an original cover then try the JR or Spektrum covers.

Thanks everyone. I'm still in RC shock for losing it. I'm hoping someone will check in with a trashed 9x or one of water rusted ones that wants to sell off parts. Also keeping my eyes open for a tx on the free or swap tables at my local field. A lot of stuff gets left or sold there on Sundays or special days.
I can swap backs until I find one close to home.
I haven't tried contacting some of the local on line hobby shops selling the. 9x that must get some back that are destroyed.

Thanks Rob. Getting one from England is sure a long way around. I had hopped with all the 9x radios sold and some fried, more local parts would turn up. I'll try RCG later on if if its still lost or yours is lost.
It's more of a bother than anything.
If I thought I could spread the parts around I'd buy another 9x. If my sticks ever fail I was going to try the Hitec upgrade, I have plenty of lcd's and extra CPU boards because of sky upgrades.
The way it's going I'll end up being a 9x parts house a few years from now ha ha.

I sent out some email to vendors that sell the 9x. I just got a call from a local customer rep saying they're going to special order one and if it goes through it'll be $4.95 to my door.
I'm in shock but optimistic. I'll know after the Holliday or a week or so. I gave a CCD # so let's see what I've bought. It'll either be a new 9x battery cover or a trip to Disneyland.
I hope it's the cover.

Battery cover update.
To my pleasant surprise today I got a new 9x battery cover in the mail as promised. $4.95 total cost. This part came in a plastic bag with part numbers on it and the bag so or looks like a new factory part.
Before I say much more I'm going to ask about sticks or stick pots.

Hobbypartz.com
I emailed their tech support and they contacted me.

http://www.hobbypartz.com/

A ticket request is required.
Under support I opened a ticket and under the parts option I made this request
"I've lost the battery cover from my FS-th9x case.
Would you happen to have any spare parts for a FS 9x?"
I was contacted by a Hobbypartz Rep and asked for a $4.95 CCard charge and several weeks later it arrived at my door.
The charge may be more to the UK but worth a try.
I think Rob in the UK said he may have a spare.
Hopes this helps.

I found my original battery cover today!
It always works out the way doesn't it.
It was at the bottom of a container full of servo wires and cables I take to the field and meeting to make custom cables for them. I must have had the radio back off showing the life battery install.
They say its not losing things you worry about, it's finding them and not knowing what they're for, so I'm still Ok.

Sorry no.

How I got it originally was by opening up a ticket request at Hobbypartz
http://help.rcdiscuss.com/index.php?
I asked for a replacement battery cover for a FS-9X.
I got a reply from a Charles K. saying if it was possible a representative would contact me soon. Within a few days a got a personal phone call saying that if I have them a cc# for $4.95 it would be ordered and shipped to me. I went for it and within a week or so a package was at my door with a new cover in it.
I'm still surprised and happy I opened a ticket request for it. I never tried asking for replacement sticks but maybe worth a try.
They did ask if I had done prior business with them and fortunately I had and they verified that.
Worth a try!
I like their customer service!

Does anyone, by chance, have a spare battery door? Preferably in FlySky color...

I don't think rcdiscuss.com will ship one abroad, especially considering the fact that I never bought from them previously...

From discussions in this thread I understand this one may fit (although the color will be different), right?

The taranis battery cover might also fit. Someone with both radios would have to confirm that though..

Don't buy one, give me today to look in my FlySky/Turnigy spare parts storage. I bought some 9X spare parts from a shop that only sold FkySky 9x radios several years ago. I did buy several battery covers but can't remember if I kept them.
I won't be able to check my stuff until later today/tonight. If I have a spare the cover cost will be "free", cost will be shipping only! What ever the lowest cost from Los Angeles to you, you can pick the shipper.

I'm doing this to keep your 9x flying. I've had so much fun with mine over the years and MikeB and Jsha have worked hard to keep it flying.

João, you're right!
I just asked a friend of mine to check - Taranis battery door fits as well. This doesn't solve the issue though, as I don't see Taranis battery doors on sale anywhere (which is kinda strange, as alofthobbies stocks a lot of Taranis parts now)...

ShowMaster,
Take your time - this is not urgent for me at all.
In any case, nothing will prevent my 9x from flying - and a battery cover is more of a design issue for me. :)

It would be great if you will find it someday - I'm surely ready to cover the shipping and some extra beer!

Thanks a lot!!!

Wow, I just googled shipping to Russia and only saw $$$, $$$! This cover may cost more that a new radio?
Anyone going there from the U.S. that could take it with them?
That or ship them yours if your closer and I'll send this one to you?
Ok, got to find it today first.

Yeah... Russia if far away... :)
I guess the shipping should cost about as much as that cover on Ebay.
But that's fine. I mean, it's better than no cover at all! :)

I may have a colleague traveling from US to Russia (and vice versa) for work. Not sure when the next trip would be - but I can find it out, if needed.
