DM9 Module

Hello,

i'm using a JR radio with a DSM2 DM9 module since years... But now i'm trying to use my 9X with Open9x and the same DM9 module.

i spent quite a long time looking for why the binding was impossible between my AR6255 RX and my TX... with 1855 released

i find that "by default" the PPM rate of 22,5 was not good for the DM9.
i put just to try 20 and it works now well. This point can be interesting for some people.

But, now, i would like to know if there is a way to find the best PPM rate for the DM9 module? does it even exists?

With my DM9 module I use PPM 8CH 22.5ms 400us. The only thing changed from the default is the 400us. And even then it still bound and worked fine, however on my BNF aircraft the centering was wrong without 400us.

I have a DM9 and a 9XR on the way (= noob).... can you explain why you aren't using the DSM2 only or DSM2/DSMX protocol ?

I haven't used either but this is documented for both Open9x and ER9x

The DM8/9 were made to be used with old xxMHz JR radios, that supplied a PPM signal to their module slot. So that's just what it's made to work with.

I will experiement when it gets here ... I purchased the module (SPMMSJR720 - DSM2 AIRMOD), I just checked the manual and you are correct, it does state the PPM mode is required.

I can get up to 9 channels with the DM9 and the Lemon Rx...

As far as I understand you can only get 8. 9 channels do not fit within the standard PPM protocol used between module and radio.

That is correct. The 9ch can only work in the PCM mode. Which the DM9 does not support.
