Throttle cut

Post by Soco »

Hi all
I have a turnigy 9xr using er9x firmware.
I am trying to get a mix that will be able to use my throttle stick to operate spoilerons without the motor also running,
Any help would be much appreciated.

Add this mix to your throttle channel.

CHx -100% FULL switch ( the same switch you use for the spoileron mix)

When activate the switch for spoileron, the throttle will be held low by the mix above.

Hi Joao

Tried as you suggested but unfortunately the motor ran at full revs when spileron was switches on.

Should be HALF, not FULL.

Kilrah, please read the Er9x manual, you can download it here:

Why HALF, and not FULL? FULL should also pull the motor channel low :o
It works the same as a throttle cut..
Imagine you have the throttle on CH3

CH3 100% Thr
R -100% FULL

I know what happened and it was my mistake, sorry.. That's why we should always remove the prop when we work on electric models ;)
I forgot to say it should be a REPLACE mix..
Make sure the multiplex is set to replace..

HALF and FULL should both work in this case

Hi Joao

my apologies, I had it at +100% rather than -100%. It now works.

Many thanks for your help

Yeah, +100% also didn't help ;)

Please make sure it is a replace mix, or it will be ADDING the value to the throttle channel instead of REPLACING, which is what you need.

Yes I did that part of the mix I did understand. There is still a small problem, the ailerons still operate until the stick goes past halfway, at that point they no longer operate. I assume its because the spoilerons (ailerons) are at their limit, is there a way of solving that?

Can you post your eepe or model file here?
You can right click on your model in eepe and save only the model settings. It's an .eepm file. Not necessary to post the complete eeprom. Then please post it here.

Like that we can see exactly what your model is doing and provide better help ;)

On the right side of the "Submit" button there is a button "Full editor". Click on it.

Then under the text box you can see a tab that say "Upload attachement", click on it, select the file and then click on "Add the File". Then click "submit"

If the model file is not accepted by the forum, please change it's extension to .txt for example, or zip it, and post the zip file here..

Question, are you trying to program differential on the ailerons?
I'm asking because you can do that going to "Edit mix" - Curve - and select Diff

Also, at the moment , when the Thr stick is below the middle point, the ailerons will work as flaperons.. I guess you only want spoilerons?

Joao
short answer is yes it is my intention to add some differential, the file I sent you has only been done on epee, therefore is very basic. I have seen in the mix that as you say differential can be added through curve. Maybe what I should do is flash the model from my transmitter so that you can see the full information, if that would help.

Yes I only want spoilerons, what I have done on my transmitter is to use some offset to counter the flaperons.
Hope I have explain that ok

Here, I did a very basic setup. Of course if you pull both servos up, they will reach the limit and only move down. Otherwise you could even break them.. If you still want them to move both ways you will have to limit the amount of spoileron. But I think that also depends on the amount of aileron you have and the limits on that channel..

I added some Diff..
See what you think. The throttle only operates on the top half of the aileron movement.
Have a look at the manual I linked above. Read the Mixer-offset-fix offset chapter. Leave the fix offset box ticked. easier to calculate the offset..

Glad you got it working and that I've been of some help.. ;)
But it is important that you understand WHY it works ;) :)
eepe should find the latest release version for you.. Or do you mean the latest test versions?

If so, please find them here:
