Telemetry alarm problem

Post by Xtrem »

Hi,

I am running R788 in a 9XR

I made a modification to the Frsky and is working well. I do not understand why when I turn off the radio they lose the values programmed into the RSSI TSSI.
Once again I turn on the radio, the values are zero and the TX module return to the factory settings.

The values of A1 and A2 remain recorded

Another thing that I dont understand is how to set an alarm in the A1 and A2 own radio instead of the TX module of Frsky beeping.

Regards

Telemetry voltage configuration. Example

Telemetry menu:
Suppose you use a 4:1 divider. Maximum voltage allowed on the sensor will be (max voltage allowed at the receiver A1/2 pins is 3.3V) 3.3V x 4 = 13.2V

So:

A2 - Range 13.2V
The screen will now display your battery voltage on port A2

Alarm example:
voltage sensor/ voltage divider on A2

Custom switches menu

SW1 v<ofs A2= 10.7V for example

Safety switches menu

CH1 A SW1 Warn1

I hope it helps

:D Good to know

Ok, I get it working and tested.

I refer now to the frsky TX alarms . I can interact with the module and lower the sensitivity of RSSI and TSSI to decrease the beeps as I want. However, when I turn off the radio andget it on again this programming disappears and TX return to factory settings.

It sounds like maybe the alarms aren't actually getting set in the module. The same problem occurs with the telemetrEZ if the stock firmware isn't updated. I know in that case the telemetrEZ simply doesn't forward the information to the module. How did you do the mod in your 9xr? Do you have any pictures?

ahh, it's the 9XR.. If I remember well reading the post from the person that did the original mod, I think he didn't connect both tx and rx.. he uses only 1.. maybe that is why he can't program the module..

Almost certainly the case.

I remember us saying you need to connect both :-)

Hi,

I have connect both TX and RX that's why I can interact with the module. I can actually raise or lower the sensitivity of RSSI and TSSI being the beeps increase decrease or disappear whichever I'm introducing in the radio. So far so good.

When I turn off the radio the values of the radio disappear and Tx values return to factory settings

I can't watch the video, I get an error "rtsp is not a registered protocol".

For reasons of EEPROM space and compatibility, the RSSI and TSSI are stored in the module, not the transmitter. They are therefore common to all models.
A1 and A2 values are stored in the EEPROM and written to the Tx module on startup and when you change models.

The default factory RSSI/TSSI settings in the Tx module are both "YEL 45". I would expect to see these rather than "--- 0" in the menu.
In order to see these, er9x sends a request to the module to fetch them. If this request does NOT get to the module then you will see "--- 0" as they have not been read.

I have seen the odd occasion on my Tx when just testing it when the values were no read properly when turning the radio on. I'll add a repeat request for these values when entering that particular menu, just tested that and seems to work OK. I may be able to remove the original requests to save flash space.

It will be in the next revision, possibly sometime this weekend.

Don't know if it was already asked but here it goes..
When you did the telemetry mod did you connect both TX and RX lines coming from the frsky module to the 9XR board or only one??

What module are you using?
How recently did you buy it?
I believe the command I'm using to get the RSSI values is not documented and maybe FrSky have removed it.
The module may well be storing the values you set, but we can't read them back.

Can you test to see at what level you get an alarm? Does it stay the same after switch off and on?
If you then set the value to something else, does the module remember that, even though you get --- 0 on the menu?

Hi Mike thanks for your interest

What module are you using?
DJT
I ´ve allready try this to mods:
First
http://forum.turnigy9xr.com/converting- ... -t362.html
Actual
http://openrcforums.com/wiki/index.php/ ... _Mod_FrSky

How recently did you buy it?

About one year

The module may well be storing the values you set, but we can't read them back.

I don´t think so... Because when i shut off the TX the module changes the behavior to the factory settings

Can you test to see at what level you get an alarm?

About 40 dbs

Does it stay the same after switch off and on?

No. After Switching Off return to 40 dbs and give "red" alarm

If you then set the value to something else, does the module remember that, even though you get --- 0 on the menu?

No. After Switching Off transmiter, this DJT module return to 40 dbs

Many thans
