Forum WYSIWYM Editor

Post by Rob Thomson »

Hi All,

I have just finished integrating a PREVIEW feature into the forum.

You will note that you now have a 'preview' button alongside the [B] and [I] buttons.

When you are creating a post, simply click the preview button and it will show you a 'real time' preview of exactly how your post will look!

While this is not a full WYSIWYG editor, it goes a long way to making formatting your posts easier. The system is currently the recommended PHPBB3 method of enabling rich editing. Full HTML style editing is not recommended due to the risk of XSS injection attacks on the forum.

Note!
There is a rather high chance the code will not work for you when you first try. This will be because your browser has 'cached' old javascript files. So before you complain - Delete your cache!

You can find out how to nuke your cache for your browser on this link: http://www.wikihow.com/Clear-Your-Browser%27s-Cache

Enjoy

What's wrong with the preview button on the bottom of the screen? :) (there isn't anything wrong with it, it works, I use it all the time)

I tried the Preview on the top of this frame, but it doesn't show Img tags properly (the preview button on the bottom does), just an fyi. (the preview button on the bottom works just marvi)

Keep up the great works, love this Forum!

I think you are having an issue with the browser cache.

Just tested the img tag and it works perfectly :D

My cache is cleared, since the beginning of time... *lol'd at that in the settings*

It's no biggie, I use the bottom preview.

Definite cache issue. I use chrome with no issues.

Worth noting.. chrome caches like crazy. To be safe go and delete your browsing history.

I had to do that on mine to pick up the changes :)
