How to add a new model to companion 9x

My computer is running Windows 8.1
I have added a new model into my Taranis but I can not load it into Companion9x for FrSky Taranis .vers 2.0.12 .
I have held both horizontal trims inwards while powering the radio up and connected the cable from the Taranis to the USB on my computer.
I have tried to down load this new model into companion9x by clicking on Read models and settings from radio, also by clicking on Backup radio to file . But the new model is not downloaded to companion9x.
Could you please tell me the correct method to include the new model into companion?

Is it a Taranis or Taranis Plus?
What firmware version is on the radio?

It is a Taranis .
The firmware version is 2.0.12
