C9X 2.x - Taranis USB windows 8.1 |Solved|

Post by Rico69 »

Is the C9X 2.X and Taranis Bootloader v1.0 compatible with Win 8.1?

My tablet device manager sees the FrSky Tarnis Bootloader but companion prompts "No Radio found". I've been down this road before with my Windows 7 desktop using Pre C9x 2.x and using Zadig to update the USB driver to get it working. I tried the same thing on my tablet win 8.1 but no success.

Anyone have any luck. It's probably my tablet USB driver.

Do you see the 2 drives appear in the computer after connecting the radio in bootloader mode?
If yes, you might want to try running companion as administrator.

I do not see the two drives appear after connecting.

-In device manager, with the Tx On in Bootloader mode, I only see the FrSky Taranis Bootloader. If I plug the USB in the TX when the radio is off, then I only see the STM32 BootLoader.

-In Devices and Printers, I see Unspecified STM32 Bootloader when Tx is off and Unspecified FrSky Tarnis Bootloader when Tx is on in Bootloader mode.

|Solved|

-Taranis on in Bootloader mode > connect USB to PC
-Device manager
-Universal Serial Bus Device>FrSky Taranis Bootloader
-Right click>Update Driver Software
-Browse my Computer
-Let me pick from a list of drivers on my computer
-Select USB Mass Storage Device and click next

This instantly recognized the Taranis as the Removable and Taranis drives on my tablet with Windows 8.1

Tested and confirmed - Good luck!
